heh.. lets just say, yes if I do more than be a tinker'r their bulldogs come hunting for me... and.. when I say I have a direct line to the people at Toyota, no they are not letting me in the one-room we don't talk about...

that to say, I need the physical ecu as I have with the Gen 3 Japan spec ecu... funny when I look at my web traffic in Google Analytics to see Plano and Japan in my frequent visitor's statistics... they are a watchin'!

how is your CHAdeMO project going? Do you have a reliable source for the necessary parts yet? As I've noted elsewhere, the appearance for purchase of hand-held Type 2 AC to CHAdeMO converters makes an upgrade of the AC system moot (I think) and strengthens the case for installation of CHAdeMO. I'm not sold itll work the cable that is for my needs.. For me, I now have your battery power and need more. To change that box under my battery and the pug receptacle is one of the paths, just the need for this other BMW when I feel there is a way some-how to swap a box and cord per se.

Your battery upgrade is for a Gen.3 2013 Prius i.e. from an installed 1.3 kWh Nickel-metal hydride battery to an 8.8kWh Nickel-metal hydride battery, correct?

I wonder if it would also be possible to upgrade the Gen.2 PHV's 8.8kWh Lithium ion battery to perhaps 25kWh (or more)?

No, I have a Plug-in and they came with Lithium from the factory. The Gen 2 Prius didn't come in PHEV. So mine came with 4.4kWh and now I have a little more than 10kWh. My goal is over 50kWh and I have a plan of attack to achieve it.

well.. i might end up using a BMW i3 CCS1 connector... appears to be the most cost-effective this far. $3k or so for this other route isn't in the budget right now.
