Er, back on topic... it's interesting this article has the first non-EPA mpg estimate I've seen... with a week of "rather lead-footed driving" he got 30.5 mpg. Not too bad considering the driving style. But he definitely overestimated the price of the car, since Toyota stated it will be less than a loaded XLE. I'd expect the base TCH to be $27k.

Could it be that the Camry Hybrid will be the XLE trim level and well equiped, and not available at the lower trim levels?

No. This information has already been posted, along with pictures of the hybrid interior. In short it's like the LE.

6 months ago, I bought a very modest amount of Toyota stock; first time I've ever made a direct stock purchase not through my 401k. So happy I did. The value has jumped up by half again what I paid for it, and this article confirms my belief that Toyota, with its long term strategic planning, will eat GM's lunch.

I especially liked the reporter's comment about "waste not, want not" as part of our ethic. I agree that a return to that ethic might be what saves us.

Hugs to all of you helping in the revolution.

uh uh... It has dual zone automatic climate control with plasma cluster ionizer, foglights, alloys and optional leather, moonroof, heated front seats and JBL w/ nav.

Knowing Toyota Canada, they'll make all that sans nav standard and price it like an XLE 4 cylinder.

Toyota stated the base hybrid will be cheaper than a loaded XLE V-6, but more expensive than other options. Including delivery, a 2006 XLE V-6, loaded, is about $28500. $26400 (base) + $2100 (options). So the base hybrid should be $27-28k, and the loaded hybrid should be $30k.
