What’s the advantage to the advance Park and panoramic view monitor? i’m just asking I’ve never seen or heard of it before? I noticed they’re all listed separately on the window sticker ! oh, mine does have the digital rearview mirror also, which I think is nice feature? i’m just happy it doesn’t have those damn side body moldings had them on My Avalon never liked it..looked goofy.

With the Limited, you can get the heated rear seats by themselves, the digital rearview mirror by itself, or you can get the Limited Premium Package that gives you the Advance Park, Panoramic View Monitor and bundles the seats and mirror in as well.

Advance Park is a set of auto-park functions that can range from useful to very useful to absolutely useless depending on the driver and their situation. It allows the standard parallel and perpendicular auto-parking, but it also offers memory parking. If you have a regular parking spot at home or at work, you can save it to memory and the car will park in exactly that position every time(within an inch or three). This might be useful to people who just have a hard time judging distances(especially in low light conditions) and it could also be useful to park very close to a wall or obstacles on the passenger side to gain a foot or so of extra clearance in a tight garage or parking space without risking hitting something if you judge the distance wrong. You can also chose the direction of the parking, so you can let the car back itself into your garage or parking space if that would make getting in and out of the car easier. In other markets, Advanced Park also lets you park the car while standing outside the vehicle for use in very tight spaces. It's unknown when or if that function will be available in the US(should just be a software update if it ever happens).

Panoramic View Monitor stitches together 4-6 camera angles to create a sort of birds eye view of your car and its surroundings. For someone like me, this is a far far better way for my brain to process data versus a traditional backup camera. For other people, it might likely be worthless. It's all in how your brain is wired and how it handles data.

None of these four options are "Amazing!!!" or "Totally Worthless!!!" Meaning that they are one or the other for absolutely everybody. Some people might find one very useful, while someone else might find that same option completely useless. It's all going to depend on the driver and their situation.

As someone living in a rural northern climate but who rarely has people in the back seats, the digital rearview monitor is going to come in handy on winter mornings when the rear window is covered in snow and/or ice and I don't want to take the time to clear it(-40F/-40C wind chills absolutely suck). The heated rear seats might come in handy a couple times a year, but I probably wouldn't have added them if I'd had the option. It's possible the advance park might allow me to make some changes in my garage to free up some space, but I'm going from two vehicles to one in a two-stall garage, so that won't be as much of an impact as it could have been(but I've lived in some apts that had tiny garages where it would have come in really handy). (Although it does open up the option of backing into the lefthand garage stall which might be better than using the righthand stall like I had been planning to.) And I already wrote about how I hope the panoramic view monitor will be a big thing for me.

As with all things like this, your milage will definitely vary.

When I was checking inventories in California, every car that came with Advanced Parking and Panoramic View also came with a Digital Mirror and Heated Rear Seats,

Yes. That's what I was trying to say in my first paragraph above, but maybe I wasn't clear. If you use the build option for the Prius at Toyota.com, you'll see what I mean.

The following are the option packages for the Limited:
    1. Heated Rear Seats
    2. Digital Rearview Mirror
    3. Limited Premium Package - Includes:
    - Advanced Parking
    - Panoramic View Monitor
    - Heated Rear Seats
    - Digital Rearview Mirror

So you can get a Limited with nothing, seats, mirror, seats + mirror, or everything. You can't get parking or panoramic without getting everything else.

Your deposit doesn't mean anything, when they can sell it with a $5K-$10K mark-up. As soon as they get one in their inventory, they will contact everybody and tell them that "One showed up from someone that put deposit, but didn't want the car."

This happened to a friend of mine and she paid little over $40K for XLE (2 months ago, Culver City).

I don't know what Toyota did on this model, but the industry seems to be leaning towards cameras built into the back of the sharkfin antenna pods, and the 2023 Prius does have such a pod.

Those are close enough to the roofline that you'd still have to do some clearing anyway.

Outside. It's right next to the backup camera(the one that doesn't get sprayed by the camera cleaner for some silly reason).

I am happy with the parking sensors alone without the PVM. I probably won't buy the car if my SE ends up with no parking sensors. Parking sensors and mirrors cover most situations.

The only thing the parking sensors don't cover is the curb, and the PVM would make it less of a hassle to parallel-park without scraping the wheels or wheel covers on the curb. However, I wouldn't pay $10,000 over the SE for that. I also like the higher fuel efficiency and longer BEV range of the SE.

I’ve gotten pretty good with my back up camera! can’t believe the people will walk behind you when you’re backing out, I wouldn’t wanna be without it! I guess I’ll learn to love it!!!

RCTA will also detect people walking behind.

    Back to the original topic….

I spoke with sales manager in person today because my 2009 has a new noise and was being diagnosed. : /

No 2023 Prius for me on todays allocation. 20 total XLE for 70 plus New England dealerships to pull from. There were maybe 7-10 LE and Limited.

    There is a white Prime coming in from last allocation for a customer who might not take it due to it not being first choice in color. I might get a chance to at least see it in person or test drive if he refuses it. Still can’t believe the person in line before me requested the same exact vehicle and specs that I want. If it didn’t say sale pending, I might hold out hopes that she changes her mind. : }

I am finding out you can’t always get what you want? When I spoke to my dealer back in November, I wanted midnight black metallic XLE with upgraded 12 inch info display! I won’t budge on the color, but told him I am open to the limited after thinking about it! bingo he called me the next week with a Limited that became available! I like the idea of the heated and ventilated seats power, lift, and more! Port installed items, all weather mats, mud guards! sick of waiting… Not crazy about buying cars under these conditions.

Yes…I agree. That’s why I told them I might take a Prime after all this agonizing due to the possibility of needing expensive repairs on my 2009. I don’t want or need the glass roof despite liking how it looks. I wouldn’t mind ventilated seats and the power lift but kind of a luxury for me.

Are you getting your information from dealer or Toyota tracker? I’ve secured the Vin number from the dealer closest to me on my midnight black metallic Limited on April 17, I am in allocation phase for good three weeks now on Toyota tracker,so I am hoping possibly June sometime.started putting deposits down in November ‘22

I’ve had to rely on the dealer for all this info. The car has never once showed up in the inventory nor the tracker. My sales rep sent me pictures of the timeline they have on their end. My car was actually released from quality control on 5/10 and finished processing, now it’s just waiting to be loaded onto the rail on 05/25. ETA of mid June.

How do I access the Toyota tracker? I put in a deposit on a XSE The dealer gave me a vin# and said it will arrive in 4 to 6 weeks. The dealer website updated the status on the vin to 'Sale Pending' and shows the vehicle is in build phase.
