California License Plates + HOV Sticker

Are there loopholes to those with a green/white sticker prior to 1/1/17? I have enjoyed my commute being roughly 20 mins shorter because of this and would like to not have to get another car just to keep this privilege.

 

No loophole I can see. It's clear the state wants more sales tax as a condition of you using the HOV lanes.

 

Looks like the stickers are being devalued in certain situations -> Commuters who drive alone in zero-emission cars will no longer get free trips in L.A.'s toll lanes

 

You have to buy a Prime or a used PiP is also OK (if it never had an HOV sticker-e.g. from out-of-state). Another thread today one person is doing that (used PiP from out of state).
