California is a horrible place!

    It may not be obvious from the outside, but there's a fairly clear distinction between NorCal and SoCal. The physical boundaries may be open to debate, but there's a definite difference in attitude. So far, I like NorCal better, but it's fair to say my experience of SoCal is limited.
