Calculating EV Range

    Guess I was thinking of it going out when I either run out of EV estimated range or manually switch to HV.

    That's what I'm trying to say: I watch that display like a hawk and I never saw the band go into the power zone or the EV go out. In fact, I make it a point not to go past the rear tire of the "EV Car" when accelerating in EV mode.

    some people claim ice comes on for unknown reasons. i have not seen it.

    But that's really weird. The car never went out but you still had an under-100 mpg bar? That's odd.

    It had to have fired at some point, but it had to have been short enough that it was between glances at the display. That makes sense given that only one bar was shorter than the 100 MPG line, and even then it was only a hair under.

    I wanted to try and duplicate the trip today, but since it rained in Los Angeles everybody crashed and closed the whole freeway on my normal route.

    Gotta' love those L.A. drivers who won't adjust speed and following distance to compensate for wet pavement.:(
