Manual labor transmission also requires learning curve to achieve high MPG too.

Thats true. BTW I base my claim on reviews of the prius where they downplayed the car because they were unable to achieve the sacred 50MPG it was touted to get in the short time they had it, but instead got 38 or so. <_<

i dont believe that much of a learning curve is needed to get to the upper 40's or low 50's.

obeying the speed limit is ALL I NEEDED to exceed 50 mpg on the freeway. the exceed EPA (the old EPA, the new ones are a joke) THAT did take some doing, but i was able to do it after about 3-4 months.

studies show that ANY car will get 20-40% better mileage simply by not driving like an idiot. racing up to a stop light, driving 5 to 10 mph over the speed limit, using brakes when not coming to stop, etc... just eliminating those habits, people were able to get significant improvements when coupled with tune ups and proper tire inflation.

not much brainpower needed for those steps

    Right!

Put another way, Hmmm GM's green tech better? Well? My best tankfull in the mighty-whitey was over 71mpg, and over 700 miles, on less than 9.9 gallons . . . and my best mpg average in the hybrid Lexus SUV AWD was 34mpg ... again, going over 700 miles on 21 gallons.
So Sure! Let me try GM's hi mpg hybrid. I'll give it a try.
