I was going to point that out, but then I checked Consumers Reports online and based on 2007 reliability, they predict "Better than average" for the Rabbit. I'd still proceed cautiously though.
Great deal on the camrys for sure He is a bit picky and we didnt have much time to test drive cars today he tested a legacy pzev, and a scion xb, both 2008 brand new models we also looked at the fit, civic and accord To be continued...
As a general matter I would not trust a 1 year old car's reliability record as a good predictor of that car's reliability as it gets older. I know that in the several years immediately preceding 2007, CR didn't have sufficient data (responses from its readers) to give a reliability rating for the Rabbit/Golf. But I do recall years -- indeed decades -- of almost nothing but "worse than average" and "much worse than average" reliability ratings for the Rabbit/Golf and its sedan cousin Jetta.
I would get the Scion especially if hes got a family, had I not gotten the Prius, i would have either gotten an Altima 2.5S CVT or Scion xB....speaking of that, take a look at the Nissan Altima, 20 gallon tank, same mileage about as a Camry, 175 hp and a niiice CVT, Smart Key like the Prius, only thing i didnt like was the rear headroom isnt that good if you're over 6 feet tall
def going to check out the altima...as far as head room, he's only 5'7" or so, no worries he said he also saw a few used 06 G35sedans, we will check them out as well kinna hard cus he is picky...he wants to at least "floss" a little, and yes he is younger than me so you get the idea
Did he blow the top off of the $10,000 limit? A 2006 G35 has got to be much more than that. They're really nice cars though; routinely rated near the top of the "Upscale Sedan" class by Consumer Reports.
My mom was lookin at G35's...Mossy Nissan in Poway that i've been communicating with has 2 2007's with around 23-26,000 miles priced around $27k....i also looked at Carmax in Kearny Mesa, took out an 06 that had a price of $24,000 with i think high 20,000-low 30,000 in mileage
yes the limit went up to $20K since his gf, got a better job sd, we saw a few g35s one in particular was a 2004 with 36K, looks brand new, with extended warranty thru carmax $23K out the door!!! (its a lil out of his budget) we'll keep looking for used cars i think carmax is the best place to go, IMO thanx again
