I live in Minnesota and my Prime delivery should happen well before the freaky cold arrives. Stay tuned.
^ So you were able to get one this soon, and way out here in the Midwest? Congrats! I'd sure like to know how you managed to secure one.
Anyone know how to set your 4 digit Entune password? I've linked my Entune App to Safety Connect, but can't figure out how to set the 4 digit password.
It's not a done deal yet. I've known my salesperson for many years and she's reaching out to regional to get my order into the early allocations. Knowing how much I'll help to promote, that's a win for everyone.
It is who you know not what you know. Congrats John. Mine is ordered and suppose to be allocated soon but I am not planning on getting it for another 60 days at the earliest. At this rate, people here will be talking about the changes to the 2018 Prime before I get mine.
I would like the screen better if there were customizable shortcuts. Still trying to figure out the fastest way to go from USB to FM radio without the intervening screens. The interface itself is fairly zippy, there should be a way to get directly to what you want. Still learning the voice command, maybe there is, but I usually get "Pardon?". On the other hand, I really love the feel of the car on the road.
On mine, the first one I put in after activation is the one I use. Works fine. I have to check for a way not to have to enter it every time.
Voice command. From bluetooth, just say "Tune to FM 95.3". I've had issues going the other way - from FM to BT. "Play iPod" seems to have the best reproducible result.
fotomoto, in response to your request: When you get a chance, get an EV 0-60 time on video (frame the speedo). I'll to get that for you this weekend. I'll set up my phone as a camera on a tripod to record a video of the acceleration onto the freeway. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
On my commute home this evening, I had only 16 miles of range on my battery for the 25 mile trip. I switched to HV mode for about 10 miles and then back to EV Auto. The car is rated for 133 MPGe, but it did much better than that. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Really nice! I want one in black but white with tinted windows is a close second. I currently have a 2013 white prius 3 with the solar roof i had custom painted the panel between the roof and hatch black to make it look like a continuous piece. Im not one for the current theme of floating roofs and the black area just behind the back door bothers me. White with tinted windows smooths out the flow. Good job! Long time reader, first time writer. You guys have a great community - thanks for all you do. For those of you on the East Coast, my dealer has informed me that my Prius arrived in the Port of New York on Monday and should be at the dealer early next week. My order was placed about 2 months ago, and I went for a silver/black Advanced.
The display is really nice. Very responsive. Honestly, I still haven't studied the manual thoroughly enough to use it to its full potential, though. I've gotten used to using Google maps and I'll have to say that Google got it pretty right. On the Prime navigation system, the miles to destination and ETA are low on the display and small. I find myself having to really look for it which means I'm spending too much time eyes-off the road. I also prefer the way Google marks the traffic condition on the route, but that just may be what I'm used to seeing. I do have to say that having the turn information on the HUD is really nice. Another thing that Google does really well that I haven't experienced yet on this car are alternate routes around traffic. We'll have to see how it does when it occurs. I don't mind the startup/ shutdown jingle at all. If you'd like, I can post a short video of it. Tuning the radio, which is very nice, is pretty easy with the voice commands. I agree with a review I saw that indicated that there should have been knobs to be able to tune the radio rather than trying to push buttons on the screen. Again, "eyes off" road is necessary to do that. You don't need to see a knob to adjust to a station. I haven't tried using the voice commands to tune directly to a specific frequency, but tuning to a preset one is ready to do. Let me know what else you'd like to hear about. Happy to share. Thanks for that update. I just ordered with my dealer on Saturday (Pittsburgh, PA) and they said not to expect it until January. Another guy at the dealership was more optimistic that it would come sooner. Glad to hear that they're starting to trickle out on the East Coast.
congrats and welcome! thanks for the info, nice to know the east coast is getting closer. all the best!
Thanks again! Please do post a video of the start-up/shut down jingle thing. Very eager to see how it works.
When the car is started, a little animation and jingle plays on the large display. Likewise when you shut down. I've heard that it's annoying but that you would get used to it quickly.
