BOTH headlights out...?

Not sure why you replied to this thread. OP has a Gen 3 Prius as does almost everyone else this thread (other than you and me).

On Gen 3, HIDs weren't even an option and since Gen 3 is a newer generation w/a different design, it doesn't seem to likely the headlight assemblies are very similar.

 

NOPE the procedure is totally different ... I think HID is only available on model 5 (maybe 4) rest comes with somewhat standard halogen bulb ....

driver side is trivial to replace ... passenger side little more difficult especially if you do not remove the hose on top of it ... BUT the trick is to put the bulb in WITHOUT the wire and snap the wire back ... not exactly reversing the removal process... I learned this the hard way ... only after discovered this on my own, I read the posts ... :-(

 

For everybody's info:

The Gen3 Prius was never offered with HID headlights.

The Gen3 headlights offered are as followed:

Package 1-4: Halogen
Package 5: LED

sfv41901 is correct. HIDs went away even as a choice on Gen 3.

I had HID in my GenII both died but Toyota replaced them for no cost to me first went about 16k the second 21k I sold the car @30 (upgraded actually)
