Body side moldings ?

Did you get those side molding? Are they correct color?

I successfully installed door moldings that I purchased from Juiced hybrid. It took about two hours since I was working very slowly and carefully. Instructions were clear. The kit includes four moldings (with sticky-strips on the back), two alcohol cleaning pads in sealed packets and two liquid "Pro-Bond" sticks. The paint job on the molding matched the car perfectly. You start by placing a horizontal line of tape to serve as a positioning guide. Then you clean beneath the tape using an alcohol pad, apply the Pro-Bond liquid (smelled like epoxy) and finally stick on the moldings. The end result met my highest expectations. It will have a couple of days to completely set before I take the car out for a drive to a crowded parking lot.
Installation tips:
-- Instructions say masking tape. I used painter (blue) tape.
-- The instructions say temperature is very important (at least 75 degrees) and to use a hair dryer to warm up the surface if too cold.
-- When applying the Pro-Bond (liquid glue stick), it is very easy to push too hard resulting in the excess dribbling down the door. Keep a rag close at hand. While doing the second side, I put a second strip of tape an inch under the first to catch the dribble. It also better defined the adhesion area.
-- Make sure you have a lot of light and that your reading glasses are close at hand.

The side moldings would look sleeker if they were installed with a bit of rake to them. Not perfectly horizontal, but a bit higher in back. Looks good if it parallels the body accent line above it.

Just checking - did you end up going with Spoiler & Wing King for your moldings? I see they have the Prius v on their website now, but the shape of the moldings seem to be quite different from OEM. Just wondering how they look once installed?

Well this is what I found so far...

The cheapest one ($89) is the most generic looking, but at least it gets the job down (protecting from dents, etc.). The one with the color insert is certainly appealing and adds a little wow factor to those fat ugly Prius v doors!

I thought I was fairly adept at eBay searches, but don't find many, and certainly not the tapered ones. I know, it has been a few years... but what search terms did you use? On the USA eBay?

I bought my moldings here at the prius chat shop after an exhaustive search all over the internet. Cheap and no tax for me. Look great and no door dings yet... knock on wood!
