Afterthought is slapping a badge over a smooth painted metal surface. If you remove the badge, you are left with the "form" it was originally designed.

I think if you remove the new Toyota badge, you will be left with "indent" in the sheet metal. That's because the car was designed with the badge and not after the design stage.

I wish they design the front and rear license plates as part of the design as well. They are a bit more tricky because every country has different sizes.

The paint job behind the metal "T" has a bit of a 3D effect -- really looks like neon lighting -- though it is entirely flat and entirely paint. The metal "T" itself, though, is the same 3D object glued on to the car.

Somehow the one on the front hides the radar that is part of the adaptive cruise control. I can't figure it out!

I don't know... I kinda like the badge but I like the Lexus hybrid badge even more because it's a darker blue shade and a black background so it stands out and looks more aesthetically pleasing. The blue used in the Toyota ones are kinda like the blue in my avatar <------

It appears we have some similar tastes, Scott. From first viewing it in January, I have not liked the bigger badge nor have I liked the neon blue paint inside the big badge. The U.S. Toyota folks didn't really like it, either, but this is one that Japan said was going to happen.

I don't know that there is any way to replace the front one if you have the Prius V w/ Adv Tech Pkg. Otherwise, I think you could paint over the background. I would consider it but for the ATP.

One reason I chose the Blue Ribbon Metallic was my hope the neon blue in the badge would not be as obvious! It is still quite distinct, but I don't believe it stands out as much as it does with other colors.

Yeah the car is going to look awful with the badges removed, there will just be a large flat, indented oval spot...

Its just a badge guys, ignore it.

There are a number of Toyota executives who are Dallas Cowboy fans, hence the blue and silver. :p

I don't care much for it, but I think I'll just leave it alone.

Why don't you mod it, as the attached link points out below? Sounds like a simple fix. What color is your car? If red, it's a must-do.... Most any other color seems to be owner-optional.

blue is the green in Japan. That's why. Note that the headlight covers are also tinted in blue. On Lexus models, the taillight covers are tinted blue.

The sky and ocean are blue. Blue is associated with nature, which is why it is green.

The rear emblem can be popped off pretty easily. The blue plastic can be removed revealing body color, then emblem snapped back on. My avatar shows the results.

It's marginally acceptable with some colors but seems to clash badly with red and sandy beach. I think it looks OK on my silver car and actually matches the blue background of the Oregon Crater Lake license plates.

If you search the Gen3 Modifications forum you will find 3 or 4 threads on changing the color. But as previously stated the front one on the radar equipped cars might be best left alone, it must be transparent to the frequency of the radar unit which is mounted a few inches behind it.
