If we put big oil together with big corn, we could make big popcorn.

Is this a regional thing? I can nearly beat that just while walking three blocks to the neighborhood grocery store and post office.

My route was Sanford to Raleigh to Alexandria (basically DC close in suburbs) to Sarver PA (near Pittsburgh). lots of 95 to the PA Turnpike but through the DC and Pittsburg suburbs. Looking at the CA sales figures for EVs and hybrids I'm staggered at the regional differences. Even my little semi-retirement community has a fair number of Prius and even a dozen v models.aw was econo-boxes, hulking SUVs and pick-ups. Even a comparably few vans. I was driving on a Thursday, Friday, Sunday and Monday. Another observation, sell your stocks in ski resort developers in the east if you can, We saw a single 5' wide patch of snow where we would normally see nothing but this time of year. Ate outside at a winery, then snow flurries the next afternoon.Been that way all winter in the east.

Investing based on single-season local weather leads to trading profits for someone else.

Out west, where the snow is much better this year, most of the resorts are run by private equity, not publicly traded entities.

And private equity's returns....see Warren B's annual letter. I used to ski a lot at Keystone when it was owned by Ralston-Purina (then a cereal outfit).

My wife asked where do all the snow shovels go they sell every year. Doesn't every household have its quota by now?
