Hey!!! I object! I like the Stooges. While their comedy was rough, lowbrow, and stupid, it was hilarious and didn't actually hurt anybody. I like the idiotic way they always made the fat one get into the top bunk, so it collapsed on the others. And the way seemingly normal people always trusted these obvious idiots to do some job correctly, from exterminating mice to building a space ship. And though they were always slapping and poking and hitting each other with hammers, each of them asserted his rights against the others. Cowards and whiners they never were.

Wow, straight out of the michael moore playbook...

It's this, right here, where irrational Bush hatred expresses itself best.

gee, let's see, there has just been a suprise attack on American soil, do you not think for a MOMENT, his security detail goes into some sort of much higher defense level where they make sure the President is even more secure, and implement "higher security" contingency exit plans?

And straight out of the Ann Coulter playbook...

In fairness, I've always agreed that that classroom bit was way overplayed my Moore, et al. Had he sprung out of his chair at the moment of being notified Moore would have played it as if he'd paniced. I think Bush is a screw-up, don't get me wrong, but that particular incident isn't a fair one to judge that by IMO.

 yeah, and gee, which playbook is reality?

There you go again with your marginalization of anything regarding Bush simply because you hate the man. this is EXACTLY why it isn't even worth seriously arguing with you, and likeminded individuals. you know damn well that's probably EXACTLY what happened...

 The classroom on 9/11 was the high point of his stupid presidency. At least his lips weren't moving.

The stooges were a cut above that W guy, it's true. The difference in the outcome of that one Three Stooges short is that bush would have invaded Egypt to get King Rootin Tootin  I don't know about you guys but I'm having a pretty good time here.

Much as I disagree with just about everything W has said or done since then, I kind of agree that Michael Moore's depiction of this was a little unfair. I don't know how I would have reacted to such shocking news had I been in his shoes. I would hope that I would have reacted with statesmanlike poise, but I don't know. I might have needed those 6 minutes for the enormity of the situation to sink in. But then, I'm not President.

It was his aides (was it Andy Card?) who really messed up how it was handled. Instead of coming in to the classroom and whispering in Bush's ear about what had happened (I assume that's what he was being told), they should should have told him that he had to leave immediately and given him the news outside, away from the kids (and the cameras).

A president who was not a moron would have heard what the secret service man told him, calmly stood up, told the kids, "Sorry kids, something's come up I have to attend to," and returned to some place where he could be fully briefed.

The secret service men don't need "more time" as Squid suggests, to come up with a "more secure" way of getting him out. I'm quite sure they have contingency plans at all times.

The man is a complete and utter moron. It's obvious from his resume and from the way he answers questions.
