Normally Coastal doesn't charge your credit card until it's shipped. Another company I ordered from were in the habit of charging your card right away and then stalled for as long as they could. I managed to get that taken off after a year's time, but it wasn't easy.

If you use your debit card AS A CREDIT CARD, you get the full benifits of that credit card. That is how the bank can put the Visa logo on the card. They have to agree to whatever protection Visa provides. If you use the debit card as a debit card (ie you put you PIN number in) you get the full benifits of the checking account it was pulled from.
