I have mounted my EZ-PASS just under the mirror, about an inch below...So far it has worked without any flaws. Next big trip to NE will be telling.

In New York City, ALL the bridges and tunnels (except the Hudson River crossings) have moved to cash-less tolling. Truth is you are on camera everywhere whether you use EZPass or not, and the cash-less tolling has absolutely reduced traffic at the toll booths which I appreciate.

I tried this and have to say it worked perfectly. I hardly notice the EZ Pass in this location, and it doesn't interfere with any sensors.

I was looking for info on this -- thanks for the advice. I'll let you know what I do. So far holding the tag up with my hand worked 3 out of 4 tries -- not good enough and possibly dangerous. Maybe it can be placed under the hood or in one of the numerous crevasses on the car's body. Also, the carbon fiber rear hatch brings up the possibility of just keeping the tag in the trunk. The electric signals ought to go right through the carbon fiber and glass as if there weren't there. Possible exception: the defroster may create enough of a magnetic field to scramble the weak signal from the tag. Again, I'll tell you what happens.

Carbon is electrically conductive. What exactly leads you to believe that it won't be at least a partial shield for RF signals ??

Its your choice to install the ezpass unit where ever. I recommend following the written instruction provided, as the best guideline. After driving 3700 miles R/T to and from New England, I found the ezpass worked perfectly in all instances.

I have the CA FastTrack device and I just put it on the dash when I'm going through a toll plaza. Otherwise, I store it in the pocket behind the passenger seat. I taped some non-skid foamy stuff to the backside so it doesn't go sliding around. Works great and I don't have to look at it all the time.

This thread is convenient, I just found my EZ Pass in my console today and was wondering where to mount it.

    Thanks.

In my State, they don’t give free replacement/upgrades to the EZPASS unless the battery dies or you have some other issue.

Come to find out, the newest version (its thicker but more rectangular than square one I had for many years) is COMPLETELY invisible for a person of my height when placed behind the rear view mirror, immediately below all the cameras and sensors up there.

Shortly after getting my new car, I discovered my old EZPASS developed intermittent problems.

    It was a happy coincidence....
