So you get a charge from solar for your prime and don't drain the EV battery and you barely use gas at all. got it. so cool

I think all of that. To get that sort of mpg you're constantly doing tricky stuff. Easier, and less obtrusive, there's lots you can do:

    1. Don't speed.
    2. Keep a generous following distance, and try to coast through it when there's slow downs.
    3. Consolidate trips (avoid short trips as much as possible).

    Lots more.

The high figures are also on naturally slow routes, generally not having normal highway speeds. I believe that many of the high Japanese figures come from drivers having very MPG-friendly commutes, quite different from typical American commutes.

well here are my 235 tires

and also a Dr. Prius battery test. Somehow I got 54mpg with a battery that needs replaced. My car can’t be special I wonder what it was.

did any of you ever trade in your gen 3 for a prime? I would like to do that in a few years ideally. The lesser impact potential is amazing uoi

Wesly, the computer in the car measures fuel mileage a little optimistically. Mine often shows 50 mpg when I fuel up and check it, it was actually 47 mpg. Don't trust the computer.
We went on a 2500 miles round trip and got 47 mpg avg.
Now, after a new hybrid battery I am getting 50 to 52 mpg. I think if you're not getting at least 46 to 48 around town, you should have things checked.
And watch a video about pulse and glide driving, Toyota recommends it and so do I.

I never drive up hill, only downhill. If I come across one that looks like it might be
up hill, I turn around and drive backward, so it's downhill.
