Battery Status Display; Never full? Here's why.

    OK, there are 8 segments in the battery SOC (State of Charge) display. The car will favor keeping the SOC at 6 bars when cruising.

    When the SOC is at 1 or 2 bars, it will be colored pink (some call it red or purple). Consider this Caution, but not harmful under normal conditions. If conditions are not normal, you would get the triangle of doom.
    From 3-6 bars, the display is blue. This is the favored range.
    From 7 to 8 bars, the SOC shows green. You'll mostly get this when extensively regen, though I have seen 7 green bars when the car feels like using ICE a bit more than I think it should. When it gets to green, the car will favor EV or mostly EV to get it back to 6 bars.
