You're right. That is another option of Hybrid Battery Maintenance. Whether someone wants to invest into the cost of the product and the commitment to usage is a personal choice. But it certainly is an option and the OP might want to investigate that avenue. I have absolutely zero personal experience in the world of Grid Charging...and either the pitfalls and/or benefits.
One additional item to consider about the Hybrid Automotive Prolong equipment is that once you have it, if you do experience a pack failure, you have the correct equipment to rebuild the battery and make it last longer.
