There is actually a proposition on this years ballot out here to allow the legislature to discontinue DST. That’s the only Prop I voted yes to.

I’m hoping it passes. It’s always interesting to move to a new area and hear why daylight savings time exists. Growing up in rural America, I was taught it was to allow for less energy consumption in cities. Out here they say it was for farmers to maximize daylight. Truth is somewhere in the middle, but let’s just get rid of it.
