I should still have the extra pieces for door handles but they are dark gray.

Hey! Thanks, but I think that might look weird :) I think I am going to get the priushoods ones, and hopefully I can find some vinyl/leather to finish the back seat... Thanks tho!

so did bartlett go out of business? Has anyone tried this on the 3rd generation prius yet?

Well I see they did :(

I dont see anyone selling a cheap set for the 2010/2011 3rd generation prius for around the same price. :(

I contacted Bartlett Corp.'s location in Muncie, Indiana this morning.

The corporation has been sold to a competitor since these Prius leather kits were sold on EBay in 2009. Bartlett is now a Tier 2 supplier to Toyota itself and no longer sells "retail".

The Bartlett representative guessed that the kits available on EBay in 2009 were likely production overruns. She did not volunteer who the seller was in 2009 but predicted that the kits were no longer available anywhere.

My interest in a seat cover kit comes from awareness that my 2009 tan leather Prius interior is showing its age at 75k miles. The lean back and seat bottom of the driver side is already cracking.

My reading of the many fine posts in this thread suggests that wholesale replacement of a leather interior is a time-consuming task.

Has anyone inquired whether Toyota sells just driver side seat covering that is an exact match? My guess is that they don't because of the safety issue surrounding the air bag module.

I just bought Bartlett leather seats for my 07 from leatherseats.com and everything seems to be simple, I have one of the back seat rests out and I found that the hog rings are small. I bought some medium size at Ace Hardware and I'll have to go tomorrow to exchange them for the smaller. But, I have a question for those of you that have installed these Bartlett seat covers, what are the rear seat bolsters for? I think I know but where are they installed and with what? Spray adhesive? They are two different sizes and that throws me for a loop. Seems like they should be both be the same size??? In looking again, maybe the small one is for the rear top of the seat near the headrest and the larger one is for the other side??? Then they have little tabs-for what??

Not to worry, figured it out myself through trial and error. Piece of cake! There is no problem installing seat covers, anyone can do it BUT listen to those saying that one needs mechanics gloves for the sharp edges of the rear seat. It's like going to a knife fight without a knife!

Great job, John. What color did you get?

Mine is holding up very well. I will post some pics when I get a chance.

I got the bisque-a little darker than original bisque OEM fabric from leatherseats.com for $369-wasn't a bad deal but not as good as the first posters on here received. The only mistake I made was switching the headrest retainers around and I need to figure how the heck I'm going to get them out without tearing the seat completely open. I thought I had them right but... Then there are the bolster covers...

You may be able to pull the headrest retainers by force. If they were reversed, they may not have click locked.

I tried that, even used a magazine as a protector and applied a small nail bar. No luck.
I guess I'll have to try the dinner knife trick I read about on this board. But it's last, my hands have been tortured, cut and abused. Thanks for idea though-it did work on the other head rest clips.

Hey, I have a question if anyone is reading, I am of course installing seat covers and disconnected my battery as a safeguard against messing up the air bags. My question is, have I messed up anything after I hook everything back up again? I read in another post where someone used a trickle charger when changing their 12V battery to avoid power windows and other electronic resets???? If I just connect the battery again, what will be the outcome?

You'll lose the radio settings and auto power window up. You just need to manually roll it up and down all the way and the auto feature will resume.

Thanks Seawolf! I was concerned I really messed things up. I still can't figure out why one would disconnect the battery, the car isn't turned on until the job is finished anyway. But I sure don't want an airbag blowing out in my face.
