    About a week after I bought it stopped by my dealer unannounced ... Don McGill Toyota of Katy ... Told them I wanted the backup set to one beep ... My service rep took it back and had it changed before I could finish my free cup of coffee. No charge no hassle no problem.

    They can also modify how the doors auto-lock and unlock, change the seat belt warning to a single beep, etc. Check out section 6-2 Customization in the Owner's Manual.

    Stopped by the local dealer with the knowledge acquired in this forum. I asked politely if they would please get rid of the continuous beep. Smiling and citing the "lack of safety" issue while all the beeps going off. Shop Manager brought the toyota man outside with his computer. Plugged it in under the dash and within minutes it was changed to one beep.

    Dayton Toyota, NJ sut off the reverse beeping in about 2 minutes and also gave me the latest 10.1 GPS DVD no charge,
    Great Dealer from purchase to service.

    Good to know. Now when my fiancee picks up her plates I will have the dealer fix those things.

    I posted in the "Thank you Prius chat thread" but to update this,

    I got mine done for free at Ramsey NJ Prestige Toyota, where we bought the prius.

    They have a separate facility for service, it is NOT at the dealership.

    I told the service rep that I need something "RESET" on the prius. explained that the reverse beeping and seatbelt notification can be reset as per the manual. Page 592 section 6-2.

    Done and free. They even washed my car of all the snow and salt.
