My 2006 Prius was losing MPG. When we first got it we consistently got 52-53 mpg on trips. When We drove it the 275 miles to Knoxville to pick up the "new" 2013 Avalon XLE Touring Hybrid we only got 43.2 mpg. I had followed all the recommended "fixes" (new battery, cleaned the MAF sensor, cleaned the throttle body, verified the tire pressure was at 37 psi), but it still had the original plugs at 99,800 miles. The Avalon got 45.3 mpg on the trip home so we are satisfied with the upgrade. I am just a little disappointed that PriusChat makes us search for the Avalon posts. I see that they offer other Hybrids in the Automobile section of the profile page (e.g. Chevy Volt, etc.) but do not offer other Toyota Hybrid selections. What a bummer. I have enjoyed PriusChat for the last 8 years, but may now have to look elsewhere for information about my new Toyota hybrid.
This is pretty close to what you are talking about: Toyota Hybrids | PriusChat You only share it with the HyCam and the very occasional HyHi post.
Just purchased a 2015 Avalon limited with the tech package Color Parisian nigh pearl and interior is light gray. ,Since comming from a 2010 prius And 52 to 65 miles per gallon wondering about the actual mileage per gallon I will be getting.
congrats! great, great car. would love to see pics, sounds like a beautiful color. you should be getting high 30's to low 40's. all the best!
If you were doing that well with the Prius, I would think you should get in the low to mid 40's, not as good as the Prius, but they are great cars imho.
