I don't have the V, but like you I do like the look! I have read here that ride is a bit stiffer with the 17s and the turning circle is not as tight as with the II-IV models. I have not seen any indication there is any difference in mileage. I am considering splitting the difference and going with a light weight aftermarket 16" rim with a good low rolling resistance tire in a size that will have more side wall than the 17s and a width that's about the same as the 15s. This should drastically improve the looks without much sacrifice in ride comfort and no negative impact on my current mileage.

 

Since you need to do a lot of driving, put winters on the 15's and get nice lite weight 17's for the summer

1 People buy the V want the LED headlight and the Advanced Technology Package. Both of those options are nearly impossible to add afterwards. If LED headlights or DRCC, PCS, LKA, IPS are not important to you then save your money and buy a lower trim and upgrade the rims/tires later.

2 The V can handle corners better. As for gas mileage goes, I'm constantly getting 55+mpg in the city on the display. If there's a difference between 15" rims and 17" rims it might be 1mpg or less. It is well worth the cornering ability.

 

Another desperate sales tactic to get you into buying a V. You should leave and tell him that since he doesn't know the product he's selling, you're not going to buy from him. I was told by one salesman that the Prius that I was quoted from another dealer had an old MSRP. He told me that it has been sitting in the lot for a long time and that it had rusted and it's old. I asked him so that what he's telling me is that any Prius will rust after being parked for a few months? Then I told him since you don't know anything about cars or the Prius for that matter, I'm not going to buy from you. Then I walked out.

I have now load everything in car instead of the truck, just need to find some roof racks to carry a 8ft ladder
If only the Prius hatch was 2 inches high i could get the little gaint ladder in

DRCC - Dynamic Radar Cruise Control - You set the cruise speed. It brakes and accelerates according to traffic, up to your set speed and down to 25mph. It has an adjustable following distance. It will go into panic braking for you if you fail to apply brakes when coming up to a blind traffic jam. The deactivation speed is 25mpg with approximately 50-75 feet of distance between you and the car in front of you. This give you enough room to brake the rest of 25mph. If you fail to brake again the PCS - Pre Collision System takes over and again full brake down to 7-15mph before you rear end the car in front of you. It doesn't work very well and have unintended acceleration and braking ONLY during moderate curve. Slight curve is OK. Straight or fairly straight is excellent.

These features are only available on trim V which also come standard with 17" rims and tires, fog lights and LED headlights.
The Advanced Technology Package also includes a navigation system and a back up camera.
Trim V is not available with the solar package.

 

looks like you're not getting the nav. I wouldn't pay more than 25000 for it. also auto dimming mirror is standard.

 

Hi Ben,

As you know I paid $800 under invoice for my Prius IV on July 25th. I received 0% interest for 3 years and received the 2yr maintenance plan. This was almost two months ago. There is no reason to believe you can't do just as good if not better. As I PM'd you, I bought from Sunrise Toyota in Oakdale.
