    How much is "good" space?

We haven't encountered something not fitting yet, after 1.5 years. Road trips and hauling basic stuff works fine. I've loaded it up once for a compost run too when we removed sod for the new sunroom.

    “Good space” is completely subjective.
For me, I expect the Model 3 to have great space, for my needs.
    For others, not so much.

Indeed. "Its was lack of a practical plug-in with good cargo space I think is what some of us find wanting."

If our cargo situation is not an issue for someone else, we're still wishing cheers that someone moved into a PHEV or BEV or more efficient vehicle. If the Prime fits your needs well and the cargo space works great for you, you've found a good match! Plenty of goods plug-ins out there, and not one size fits all.

    That's called a non-answer.

Rather than just provide a response with an actual cargo example...

No, it’s a perfectly fine and real answer. Again, PiP fits our cargo needs, Prime and C-max don’t. That’s us. YMMV.

Because it doesn’t fit your narrative is irrelevant.

If you have something you need to carry that won't fit or will be inconvenient to load, point it out. A narrative of "good" is what you started, which is so vague it doesn't tell us anything.

    Don't feed assumptions. Be specific.

Wrong. Enough information was provided to support the assertion.

No assumptions. You have now asked for specifics, but that is not required. No need to line item our tests.

    Try again if you must.

We do what we can to call out generalizations. Prime has proven vague comments of the past were without merit. This is yet another example.

    That's how sales grew.

No generalization on my part, but saying elsewise dose not make it true.

Tribalism continues. Glad your needs can be imposed on ours. Good luck John.

On family trips with the usual 4 of us we often load our hatch up so there is not a cubic foot left and fill every corner. Stuff goes on the floor and middle seat too.

We were up in Tahoe recently and my cousin and his family shared a cabin with us. He has an SUV but commented on how suprised he was that we could fit so much stuff in there.

I have played with the Prime hands on and it is a great vehicle and will fit many peoples needs quite well. But there is no way we can haul what we do on our family trips in a Prime. Guess a solution could be to leave a kid or two. :D

The suggestion was pass the recycle bins in through the side doors instead, the same way I transport mine.

I got to thinking about EVs again on my trip yesterday. 250 miles up, 4 hours there, 250 miles back. 44MPG. Compounded by the hurricane closure of roads uncertainty. On that trip into very well-off'ville, I saw one Tesla M3, one Volt. Owner of house has a Tesla, not sure which model but would I have been able to charge there in that length of time to get back? My total refuel times were one Egg McMuffin on the trip up and one Big Mac on the way back. I did all this and was in bed by midnight and wouldn't have wanted to extend the trip duration. Gotta get my beauty sleep.

But that is the twice a year exception.

I could get around the 'got to haul the chair home from the store or the 55 gallon trash barrel to the recycler' issue with a trailer hitch and a small trailer. Recycle place is only 10 miles away. But no where to park the trailer as HOA rules say not visible from the street.

And still left with the issue of how to fit big people into a small backseat on anything under $60k new.

    They will come in time.
For now, considering public perception and public charging infrastructure, affordable, smaller BEVs are more likely to purchased. Most potential customers see them as the secondary car for the household. Leaving hauling and long trips to the larger primary one. Which is still a move in the right direction.

Ok, you've convinced us ... a Tesla can't tow anything.
