Will disconnecting the 12v battery to install the pads lose the radio presets or any other personal settings?

I agree that BG is a well known product line but I just don't see the need for it as a routine maintenance item. I would guess, if one is inclined to use an additive, there are equally as good products at the local auto supply store, comparable to the BG and less expensive.

Oops good point and thanks for the heads up.

You would also have to "normalize" the power windows after disconnecting the 12 v battery.

I would hope that would be part of the dealer's service.

My bigger concern would be the radio presets and possibly other stuff.

OK so heres my report on the 5000 mile service.

BOGUS!!! I GOT A FREE OIL CHANGE AND THAT WAS IT!!!!

so the scoop is that when I boughjt the car the salesperson had told me I'd get 3 free oil changes. When I got the packet in the mail with the coupons that stated the services I listed above, I thought NICE! just like the sign in the dealership said "We're here to beat your expectations".. yeah yeah ....BEAT THIS! :D

Apparently the service code on the coupon entitles me only to a free oil change and filter. But it is very vauge and misleading because on the back of the coupon it leads you to believe that you are getting all the stuff listed.

And when I phoned the service person and she told me about this BG KIT thing.. I said I didn't know what it was but as long as it was free the might as well do it. Never did the service person tell me about the $59.00 charge (usually $79 with out coupon for free oil change) . It was only when I got down to the dealership that they told me this.. Lemme check my drivers licence, NO I wasn't born yesterday
Ain't this the oldest trick in the book...Bait and Switch.

After a short argument where I knew I would be the loser... I kindly replied "I didn't come down here to spend 60 bucks today, just gimme the oil change".

Too bad I didn't bring my kids..I would have let them eat all the free donuts!!! :D

oh yeah the reciept the gave me said they did all the stuff lube, 19 point inspection,etc.... they are totaly scrrewed up. I was in and out in 15 minutes..

I'm waiting for a dealer to claim they lubed all the grease fittings on the Prius. Then you KNOW they're making it up as they go along!
