I'll get my second Prius when the plug in is available in North America. So not even having first thoughts on a 2010. I'd actually love to own a VOLT but I still think it's a pipe dream. I'm sure we won't see it in '09 and probably not in '10 either......

I'm sure once I see it I'll be sorely tempted to replace my 5+ year old '04 (84k miles)...but with plans to be out of the country for 9 months in about a year and a half and a deep desire for a PHEV or EV it makes no sense to buy one now (unless resale could reap a profit like the Prius did for a while a couple years ago).

The Prius is so "techy", It fits a little different classification than most mere cars that basically put on a new body on the same old car to get a new flashy look and new pricetag, but the car itself gets very little improvements from year to year.
Similiar to fashion in clothes.... it still covers the body, but becomes a status symbol to everyone that "yours" is new and different from thiers therefore "you" have something different with the illusion of better.

When we buy a computer.. we already know that as soon as we get it home and get all our software on it and configure it to our taste, its already outdated with something better, faster, cheaper, with more and better features.

This brings an unavoidable "buyers remorse".

Based on that, I will try to wait for a "special" improvement thats not likely to be the same as I already have.
Indeed, I am cursed with the desire to have the latest and greatest if I can afford it.
But I don't want to buy something similiar to what I already have just to have the "real" update come out the next year or year after.

I'm waiting for in the very least "plug in" capability.
Knowing the technology thats out there..... We need at least lithium technology if not better in our batteries.

Not to mention Hydrogen fuel cell technology....

Theres alot of technology out there thats actually available that we still haven't tapped that will make our present prius's like model T's.

On the other hand, you could just let me babysit that new Prius for you, while you are gone. :p

Actually I'm expecting it to run around $35000 as a premium trim level with ALL the bells and whistles. But there will likely be a $3000 - $5000 tax credit for those that qualify.

It seems like there aren't any folks who got a 2010 and then realized maybe they should have gotten a 2009 instead. That's re-assuring for people like me who could have had the old $1000 off, 0% on a 2009 but wanted the GENIII.

2nd thoughts? Yes, I think about owning a 2010 about once a second. I hope to be an owner in the next couple weeks. After all of the reading I've done, here and elsewhere, I would not consider a gen II. A gen II makes sense for some folks but I'm only interested in a 2010.

I purchased my Prius IV one week ago. My second thoughts (and third and fourth...) are:
    I LOVE THIS CAR!

If anyone has gone as far as to buy, its not really expected they would have buyer remorse as this is the best thing on the market right now.
Buyers remorse comes when better comes out!

But thats the name of the game with cutting edge technology.. what do you do .. never buy?

I'm also waiting on the plugin LIthium Ion or better.

But I don't need a new car yet either.. both of mine only have 80K.

Absolutely zero second thoughts here too. The only 2nd thought I have is allowing (yeah I know I said allow so 40 lashes to me) the husband to have a fob. It's a marriage enhancing move to 'share' it so I suppose . . . :)

anyone who does not have 2nd thoughts in any situation has a problem that goes beyond what car one drives. 2nd thoughts are normal. they provide the foundation for improving future decisions. relish your 2nd thoughts, investigate and research the reasons for your thoughts. any ounce of info you gather is only going to benefit you.

fyi: if you think 2010's are expensive now??... if gas i $4 a gallon next year, you may have to SELL your house to buy one

2nd thoughts? Have mine for 6 days now - answer is ZIP - NO!.

First time Prius owner - and a key reason I took the dip was the satisfaction and loyalty of Prius owners. I now see why and very proud to be in your group.

VERY happy camper. Can the vehicle be improved? Let me count the ways. That's why there will be a G4.

But did Toyota do a credible job on the Generation 3? Yikes - yes!

This will be my 1st Prius:peace: and I can honestly say I have no 2nd thoughts however I did place an order for a Prius IV with the moonroof but I am considering changing the order to a Prius V with ADV TECH, I don't understand why all Prius models don't have the Led and Fog Lights as a standard feature.

Nope, no second thoughts here. This 2010 II Prius is the best car I've ever owned, and I've had a lot of cars. I didn't just buy it for the MPGs, remember it's also the 'king of clean'! Comfortable, sexy looking, newest technology, what's not to like???

as with any major decision, i have had SEVERAL afterthoughts, 2nd thoughts, what have you... and each time i still come to the "current" conclusion that i have made an acceptable decision.

as i have 3 cars and only two drivers in the house, i guess i could have done without getting a new car, but our situation maybe changing soon. but if it does not, i still have come up with acceptable rating on my Pri purchase.
