I've not see a description of LurkAzusa' route but guessing it is a lot of start and stop. Expect the Pirus PHV will be more efficient in stop/go traffic as it has less to accelerate (and while regen helps its not 100%). Note it was not reported that it was 14.5 pure EV.. It could also have been blended.. my comment was just that an 19mpg increase is not that magical. Add 3kw of power at low speed and you can expect it.
