Yes, the unit had to be bought and installation ahd to be in 2011 to get the 30% rebate... As long as the outlet matches up and there is nothing else on that circuit I guess it could work but I'm no electrician so I don't want to say for sure lol.
We have 200A service and I used 10-2wground cable for my 58 foot run. You need to have an electrician evaulate your service, demand, location, and cable to determine cost. Safety is pre-iminent.
Anyone else in Norcal receive a call yet that their PIP is at the dealer? Putnam is saying he hasn't seen them yet.
I haven't heard anything. My last communication with him was that "if they make it in time" I might be able to come by on Friday and pick mine up -- but he is at the mercy of the dealership. Since Long Beach just got their's -- I'm assuming ours must be hitting Putnam today too?
Tracksyde went to Carson Toyota today took care of the paperwork and took a bunch of photos. They are adding real leather, so he'll drive her home tomorrow. He will probably be the first to drive one off the lot.
Well, mine is charging in the garage. Too dark for pictures, but it is the Clearwater Blue Base. I almost forgot to plug it in....
I'd congratulate you, but I guess that has to wait until the HOV sticker arrives and you know it's real.
Great! Maybe you got the first one off the lot. Give us an update with your impressions once you've had a chance to drive it.
I drove the 40 miles home from Carson. I'm pleased with the nav and audio. Haven't had a chance to setup the entune, yet. I drove it in ECO mode most of the way home. It said I had 514 miles left on the tank when I shut it down. Haven't had a chance to try the EV mode as I rushed them to get it and it didn't have time to charge before I took it.
No sir, we have to give Track the credit for the first guy in! He got here so fast!! Lurk's pretty blue car was heading out at the same time another PC buyer was heading out too! I count TRACK's car as my first ... and just because he left her for leather isn't a demerit. I think Lurk would have been here first but her car wasn't here till about 1pm.
Gotta love cars charging comfortably at home instead of having to drive to a gas station, wait in line, and then buy gas! Congratulations to everyone getting their PiP!
I wonder if the PiP has some kind of reminder to plug-in. I haven't read the manual yet. The Leaf can remember private charging stations and then be set to remind the driver (via telematics & text msg) to plug in if they parked at such a station without plugging in after x minutes. Of course, it's less important for the PiP to be plugged in.
You wrong for that, Bisco!!!! "Living through you guys".... GRATS.. can't wait for all the first-timer.. pics to start flowing in...
After charging overnight it showed 11.2 mi available EV. I drove a mixture of EV and ECO for 25 miles. On EV alone it got to 113 mpg. I didn't do a scientific calculation of actual miles driven in EV alone, as I switched back and forth depending on speed. The trip ended with 4.9 EV miles available and a combined average of 74 mpg. It doesn't have as much pep as my 2005 Prius, but I guess that is to be expected with the ECO mode. I'll play with High Power mode soon to see how that feels.
I understand that you want to take it easy during the breakin period. So, you used up more than half the charge (11.9 -> 4.9 miles) then. I take it that you won't be able to charge it at work. Is the 74 MPG for the morning trip? I just want to be clear that it does not include the 40 miles from yesterday. Can you check the screen that shows EV/HV ratio? From that we can work backward to get the number of miles on EV and HV.
