actually WA is closer than even portland. as far as the sales tax thing, that is why i ultimately decided to get mine. up until recently, i had decided to wait for highway capable EV, but expected changes in my personal situation has forced me to change my transportation options sooner than i had hoped to... but keep in mind, WA state ranks like 4th or 5th for # of existing Pri owners and pretty close to #1 in ownership per capita
Looks like Toyota sunnyvale got theirs today. Unfortunately, I won't be able to pick it until noon tomorrow
In Southern CA: Just a couple of updates on the shipping and retailing of the 2010 Prius... The target is that ALL DEALERS will receive their "1 Per Dealer" by Friday May 29th. After the 1 per dealer is shipped, the port will commence with a free flow of all 2010MY Prius units to the dealers. Dianne, who expects her first one tomorrow morning (but it's already sold)
Saw one being test driven out of Magnussens in Palo Alto today. I was driving by going the opposite direction so didn't get a good look but it was Blue non-solar with 15's.
I've signed for a 2010 Prius II at SF Toyota and am told that it should arrive eaarly next week. I won't be too happy if I find out they were holding it to allow others to test drive it.
haha - I'm Chris and my new friend Dianne is taunting me. She has a Blizzard/bisque IV w/sunroof coming in for me in a few weeks and I'm going crazy with anticipation. When it comes in I'm going to fly from S.F. to LA to pick it up and drive it home and two weeks can't pass quickly enough. My dealer here in the bay area was nice and all, but they just took my deposit and that was it - weeks of no updates and no input as to when I could expect my car. For all I know it could have been September before I got it. If you guys want to be treated well (plain old MSRP and plenty of communication) you would do well to go with Dianne - I'm glad I jumped ship! P.S. I'd love fries with mine!
Piercey Toyota, Milpitas said theirs just came in today. I just want to sit in it, so called Piercey. Says they have a 2010. So, I call Fremont Toyota which is about half the distance .... salesguy spouts off 'Piercey is lying about having the 2010 ... they're not coming out for 2 months ... they just want you to come down and sign up for one, blah, blah ... So, I call Piercey back, ask for a sales manager, who says he's looking right at the 2010. Fremont Toyota is bad karma. And wow did they take the low road last Summer.
Sunnyvale Toyota is certainly a dealer one can trust. They weren't JD Power & Assoc. #1 for nothing. Piercey is pretty good too.
My point 'zactly. Mebbe that was on another thread, but they are all for sale when they hit the ground. Or, they should be for sale unless someone's already spoken for 'em!!
We had a 2010 here for testing and driving purposes all day Monday, and halfway into Tuesday. Thank heavens for the holiday. I heard from others that they called their own local dealers and were told "no way, they are lying to you..." but we really had a car. Not one to BUY - but to test and drive. Maybe that's the same thing they have there? A rep's car dropped for the day or two as a courtesy to the store?
My car came today and I picked it up. Mine was the only one shipped to the dealer as I was part of the Prius Priority. More will be coming soon. Lee
Misty Gray. It looks light or pale gray. I think I would have liked the darker grey better for hiding dirt though. I can't figure out were others have called it Aqua... it isn't close to aqua. Lee
How about these: Gadgetdad's 2010 Prius - a set on Flickr I can't wait to cozy up to owner's manuals this weekend! Rick, I bet yours comes in soon as they were on the same ship and Toyota bent over backward to make sure I had mine before others hit the lot. Your Prius Priority order will be the first in your area I'm sure. Lee
the 2010 party starts now in the Bay Area as they just came in today. I saw a pre-sold V ready for drive away tonight. I saw 2 pre-solds and a white IV and drove a Silver III/Nav at Piercey Toyota. Ask for Sam Kuhl, tell him Brett sent you.
Chris - I'm in the same, er, similar boat, well, figuratively at least. In SF, working w/ Dianne, Blizzard w/ sunroof, (but III w/ dark gry), same lackadaisical experience with local dealers. I have a VIN but no firm ETA yet. I want patience and I want it now!!!
Ehh to the pinstripes. If they were painted on, perhaps one thing. I bet these are cheap $5 vinyl though. Thx for the pic tho!
