Any regrettable color choices?

I just bought a Black one on Friday and so far really like it! Ive always avoided black cars because they tend to show imperfections more but looks great now :) and around here I don't see many black ones. The main reason I went with black was looked a little more masculine...just a little and I like that all the plastics and spoilers match, instead of having them black and the body another color.

I'm not jazzed with my Nautical Blue, admittedly. I would have preferred black. But it is what it is, and I made the choice. :)

As I've stated elsewhere on these forums, I ordered the Nautical Blue sight unseen based upon the depictions on the Toyota website. In real life it's considerably darker than the website depictions.

At first I was slightly disappointed with the darker color.

Then it started to grow on me.

Then I started noticing how easily it shows dirt and dust, and was less enthused again.

Now I've learned how to wash (and dry) it fairly quickly, and I do really like how it looks when it's clean. Adding the lower door moldings added some sportiness as well. So I'm back in the plus column.

In scouring the interwebs for ideas about keeping darker cars looking clean, I saw many mentions of folks (especially owners of black cars) using the California Duster to maintain the car's appearance between washes (assuming it hadn't rained). So I just ordered a Turtle Wax version of the California duster from Amazon. I'll report back on it after I get it and have had the chance to use it for a while.

Nautical Blue is the best color for keeping stock.
Winter Gray (woohoo!), Blizzard Pearl and black are the best for modifying. Probably silver too, but I'm not a fan of silver cars. The red is meh, too brown for me, what a shame. Sea Glass pearl is real pretty... if you're a girl. Brown/tan/gold.... no car should be poop colored.

All just my opinion of course. :D

    Cool Avatar Dennis :p

Seaglass Pearl is very pretty, That was my second choice but it wasn't offered in the Plus Perf package unless I wanted to do some contrasting body kit or have the kit painted Seaglass Pearl

I LOVE the Barcelona Red. In fact, I love it so much, that when my red 2010 Prius was totaled, I scoured all the local dealers until I found a red 2012 with the features I wanted, with the grey interior. (I'm not a fan of the bisque interior). It's all just a matter of personal taste, but the red makes me smile whenever I see it. I love walking into a parking lot and having my car stand out amid a sea of grey, black, silver and white cars. When I brought home the first car, a neighbor said, "it looks like a fresh manicure." It still looked great 2-1/2 years later, until it was caught in the middle of a 5-car pile up.

Sorry to hear about the accident. Glad to hear you love the BR. I have been waiting three months now to get the right mix of options and color combo (Model Five BR with dark grey interior, ATP). Still have perhaps a couple more weeks to go (fingers crossed).

I've had white cars in the past, most recently the one I had traded in. Which was a 2500HD truck. That vehicle was HUGE and required little washing because it was white. I figure now that I've got a vehicle half it's size, it'll be quicker & easier to wash it weekly like I was doing with my truck. I was between getting white or winter gray going to the dealer, but after seeing them both in person, I couldn't pass on the winter gray.

I wanted red for my new Gen III but the only red they offered was some crappy winey metallic red so I saved £500 and just took plain white. I don't care that much.

Silver looks classy. It was one of the colors of choice when I bought used. It hides the dirt well. I do like Sea Glass Pearl, Blizzard Pearl, and Barcelona Red. Not a fan of Winter Grey, Black, or plain White. Nautical Blue was out since my previous car, a 2009 Camry was Metallic Blue Ribbon. Harder to keep clean, but it looked nice when cleaned.

Replying to an old thread .... when I bought my 2010, my first choice was blizzard pearl, second was the blue, and third was the grey. I ended up with the grey because that's what came in. I was a bit disappointed but it's an interesting color because it looks different in every light... sometimes grey, sometimes navy blue, and sometimes black. It's also fairly easy to keep clean except for the white bird poop!

Now I have the BP 2016. Beautiful when clean but so hard to keep clean.

I love my Classic Silver Metallic but I can't get anything that is chrome because there isn't any contrast with a silver background. I've always wanted to get the chrome lower body side molding for my car but never did because of that. Oh well...

I wanted BP but ended up with nautical blue. It gets dirty easy and looks horrible in the winter but looks awesome when it's cleaned up.

Apart from the last sentence, that's word-for-word our story. Well, we actually wanted non-metallic white, but that wasn't happening. So ok, Blizzard Pearl? Sorry, none on the lot. Oh hey, what's this long forgotten Silver Touring doing at the back of the lot. Asked if they could dig it out, and away we went. :)

I thought all the white ones were pearl ...... We have the pearl w/ the gray leather interior ... would have liked a black interior. I actually like black cars with black interiors. Don't like the tan

You're correct. Well actually, wasn't there a plain white (called "Super White"), at least for third gen. Just level 1 fleet sales??

I really liked my 2010 III in Barcelona Red. Someone told me it looked like Ferrari Red! My latest Prius (2013 Persona in Black Cherry Pearl) gets a fair amount of compliments. Many people don't realize that this was a one-time Prius color for the 2013 Persona. By the way I have a 2015 Avalon in Blizzard Pearl and it looks great (in my opinion). I think silver hides the dust/dirt the best.
