I found the menu option to open all door buried in one of the vehicle settings. I believe you need to be in Park to access it. It was a little obscure, because you needed to change another setting to be able to change that one, as far as I remember. I would imagine it would work the same way with the remote. That was high on my list of settings to change.

    Hey Carista users,
I got the Carista OBD2 plug 3 days ago and I think I got a defective plug. I have the paid version of Carista, and it takes over 10 minutes to scan for faults on my 2016 4 Touring. During the scan it keeps switching from downloading to "connecting to bluetooth device" In order to modify any functions I have to keep unplugging and replugging the OBD2 plug to force it to reconnect to the phone. This is with a Samsung Note 4. Is this even close to normal behavior for this device?

I sent a message to Carista but it's 3 days now without anything but the autoresponder reply. Thinking I should return the plug and either get a different brand or a second Carista unit. Andy recommendations.

    Thanks.

My unit/app works great. I would ask for a replacement unit. And I would delete and reload the app.

I just downloaded Carista today and used it tonight with my Note 4. It took a while to download the data, but it did work fine. Once I saw it worked with my OBD2 unit, I paid the 20.00 for the full version. Everything works as it should. If you need it, I can probably find the exact OBD2 unit and provide a link.

Well, I'm going to return the OBD2-Bluetooth plug to Amazon. I've ordered a $10.00 generic adapter , I'll see if that works better than the one I'm returning. At least it's $30. cheaper.

"IDEAPRO Car Scanner Super Mini ELM327 Bluetooth OBD2 II ELM 327 Wireless Scan Tool Scanner - Use for Android"

EDIT: OK, Don't buy the one listed above. Apparently it doesn't support one of the Canbus protocols needed to access the customization functions.

Yes, that's probably the one I got. I do remember it being super inexpensive.

OK, the one I listed two posts above doesn't work with customization in Carista, probably doesn't support the right Canbus protocols. Guess I'll try to get a replacement Carista brand adapter unless someone can recommend a better/cheaper adapter that supports all the protocols.

I searched and found I had gotten it off eBay. The seller was tomtop.com
The exact wording of the eBay ad is: Mini Bluetooth V1.5 ELM327 OBDII OBD-II OBD2 Car Diagnostic Scanner Tool
Here's a link to similar units. I can't say for sure any of these units are the exact copy of the one I bought, back in 2014.

I just received a BAFX OBDII unit through Amazon, and it works really well with Carista. I would have stuck with a Carista unit but the one they sent me was defective and I'm still waiting for an email reply from their customer service after 7 days, so I've returned it. Tha BAFX unit claims to fully support CANBUS protocols. I haven't tried it with the beta version of Carista but I was able to customize functions using the BAFX unit and Carista.
I tried to post a link but for some reason it keeps getting deleted. You can find the product by searching on Amazon for:
BAFX Products 34t5 Bluetooth OBDII Scan Tool for Android Devices.
As it says it only works for Android devices and only via bluetooth.

    CARISTA Rocks!

Mine came today and it works flawlessly. Easy peezy as could be. No more beep beep back-ups... and no more driver side seat belt beeps. Ahhh, silence. After all, that's part of the reason I bought this car.

There's allot more customization possible (than I originally thought). Any other popular (common) setting changes you guys like?

Strange thing... it say's I've disabled the driver seat belt warning ding. But it's still there. I went ahead disabled the front passenger and it's still there. The dings go away with the belt connecting... but it's like there is no effect. Could I be hearing something different as I press Start?

Here's the settings... anyone else have an issue with this?

    Seat belt warning ding (driver)
    ENABLED / *DISABLED*

Seat belt warning ding (front passenger)
    ENABLED / *DISABLED*

What exactly is this? Turn signal auto blinks?

    Lane-change turn signal auto-flasher count
    OFF / 3 FLASHES / *4 FLASHES* / 5 FLASHES / 6 FLASHES / 7 FLASHES
    --------------------------
Regarding Seat Belt Warning: I re-enabled (to default). Turned off the car, app and locked the doors. Then went back in and DISABLED it again. Same result... but maybe it's something else I am hearing. Is the Start Up ding only one beep or is it a series of 3 or 4 beeps (dings)?

    Seat belt warning ding (driver)
    ENABLED / *DISABLED*

I am still hearing about 3-4 dings that seem to go away when if I connect the seat belt.

OR is this meant to just stop the "warning ding" IF you are in drive or reverse (without the belt connected)?
Maybe I'm misunderstanding what the function is.

If you push down slightly on the turn lever (not fully engaged) the blinker will blink a certain number of times and stop. I set mine to 7.

Thank you! I did not know that. Very useful. I can see the value in setting it much higher. Good deal (y)

Is there a way to close the windows and sunroof with a long press from the key? I can only get it to open...

No. You have to use the key-in-door method.
