Very good question! Now that we know, as Fraychild has stated, the stock aux cable is no longer valid. We look towards alternatives. The best alternative being Bluetooth.

This Unit is equipped with Bluetooth Hands-Free interface w/ A2DP music streaming

An Explantion of A2DP as follows

    Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP)
This profile defines how high quality audio (stereo or mono) can be streamed from one device to another over a Bluetooth connection.[1] For example, music can be streamed from a mobile phone to a wireless headset or car audio or from a laptop/desktop to a wireless headset.
A2DP was initially used in conjunction with an intermediate Bluetooth transceiver that connects to a standard audio output jack, encodes the incoming audio to a Bluetooth-friendly format, and sends the signal wirelessly to Bluetooth headphones that decode and play the audio. Bluetooth headphones, especially the more advanced models, often come with a microphone and support for the Headset (HSP), Hands-Free (HFP) and Audio/Video Remote Control (AVRCP) profiles.
A2DP is designed to transfer a uni-directional 2-channel stereo audio stream, like music from an MP3 player, to a headset or car radio.[2] This profile relies on AVDTP and GAVDP. It includes mandatory support for the low-complexity SBC codec (not to be confused with Bluetooth's voice-signal codecs such as CVSDM), and supports optionally: MPEG-1 , MPEG-2, MPEG-4, AAC, and ATRAC, and is extensible to support manufacturer-defined codecs, such as apt-X. Some Bluetooth stacks enforce the SCMS-T digital rights management (DRM) scheme. In these cases, it is impossible to connect certain A2DP headphones for high quality audio.

Here are some common operating systems which utilize A2DP technology

    Android: Supported in version 1.5.[3]
BlackBerry: Supports A2DP in Operating System 4.2.
iPhone and iPod Touch: All iPhones support HFP and PBAP. Version 3.0 of the operating system added support for A2DP, limited AVRCP and PAN for iPhone 3G/3GS and iPod Touch 2nd/3rd generation only. iPod Touch 2g is now compatible with headsets that use the PAN profile.[4] Original iPhone (iPhone 2G) bluetooth chip can provide A2DP as well, but Apple decided not to enable it. However, A2DP can be enabled in a jailbroken iPhone 2G by a special utility.[5]
Linux: Initial A2DP support was added to BlueZ in version 3.15. The instructions to set up A2DP can be found in the BlueZ Wiki; Since Ubuntu 10.10 setting up a A2DP is as easy as pairing your computer with the bluetooth device and selecting this device as sound in- and/or output in the sound preferences.
Mac OS X: As of version 10.5, Mac OS X includes native support for A2DP on Bluetooth-equipped Macs.[6] Version 10.4 does not support A2DP, but can be hacked to enable limited functionality.[7]
Motorola P2K: Motorola L9 running on P2K supports A2DP Profile.
Nucleus : All Mediatek 6225+ Chipsets supports A2DP Profile.
Palm OS: A2DP not supported, but can be implemented with third-party applications.
Palm webOS: A2DP supported by Palm Pre.
    Symbian Series60: Devices running Series60 3rd Edition FP1 (S60v3.1/Symbian 9.1) and newer support A2DP [8]
UIQ: UIQ 3.0 (Symbian 9.1) and newer support A2DP.[8]

    Hope this Helps :D

bAthinAzn - The blue brake wire is a pretty long one - You can cut it to the right length if you want to. You don't need to "wrap" the wire around anything. You just need it to make contact with any bare metal part of the car creating a "Ground". You can use either a RING connector:
    [IMGLINK]http://www.lbthosting.com/dutton/others/clip_image004.jpg[/IMGLINK]
    [IMGLINK]http://www.scionlife.com/tech/images/ground_wire_kit/groundkit10.jpg[/IMGLINK]
    or a SPADE connector:

    [IMGLINK]http://www.spadeconnectors.com/images/spade-connectors-2.jpg[/IMGLINK]
    To get the job done...
I just chose to strip the wire about 3/4" and wrap it around the screw... because' I'm lazy and careless like that... :D
I don't know about AUX with the Rosen unit... quite frankly, I haven't used anything with AUX in a while... HOWEVER, I'm going to look into that and confirm whether or not the unit has it - There are many cables back there that I'm not using... Subwoofer/RCA/Back Camera etc etc.. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a AUX wire among them...

It does support AUX - it uses RCA connectors - I guess it could be used to add other sources... like a Video Game Console maybe?

ahh so we would need this cable to connect certain products without bluetooth to the HU

Vintage Hi-Fi Vault - Parts 3.5mm to RCA cable

    BIG BIG QUESTION!!!

CAN THE HU READ NTFS as well as FAT32 Formats? Cause I'm about to purchase a SD card for it and if only reads FAT32 Formating then obviously theres no point in buying a SD card over 4 gigs

... I don't have any other pics of how I grounded mine except for what I provided above... You basically need to attach a ring connector at the end of the blue wire, remove the screw, put the screw in the ring hole, and screw it back down to where it was before.... it's really simple. Here's an example:
    [IMGLINK]http://www.popularmechanics.com/cm/popularmechanics/images/LC/amp_ground_large.jpg[/IMGLINK]

The HU buttons light up green.

Just out of pure curiosity... anyone have a picture of the backside of this HU with all the connections?

EDIT: and I hate to be annoying and ask this again, but does anyone have a good install guide (with pictures) to installing a back-up camera? I don't want to drill any holes or anything, but there appears to be a piece of black plastic in the well that the camera sits... assuming I can pop it out and add in a camera. And is it the '08 Camry camera that everyone is using?

I know using the DVD player in the front seat while the car is running is illegal in California. So, if I attach this "brake" wire to a switch which when flipped completes the ground (and thus be able to watch a DVD while the car is running), I can just flip the switch again and the DVD will be off, right? Thus, nobody would ever know that the DVD could be used while the car is running. Or put a different way, everybody would think the car has to be stopped in order to work the DVD.

Does "running" mean actually moving or just when the engine is turned on?

I didn't see these questions before, but I could have missed it.

the black plastic is where the ebay camry camera sits, but you must drill a hole behind it

I've put these in twice - and never drilled a hole. You route the wire through the hatch plastic 'latch' - pull it out, put the wire through, then put it back.

You'll need to do some searches - there are many posts on putting a cam in...

I got power for the cam from the blue wire (acc on) at the wipers. Routing the cable through the rubber 'boot' at the top of the hatch is a bitch - use a lube, and a hard wire (coat hanger etc) to help fish it through...

Basically, you pull the rear plastic off (snaps off), then there are like 4 10mm bolts that hold the back plastic where the cam sits (deep socket needed). Remove the hatch 'latch'/opening push button thingy, mount the cam (I hot-melted the Camry cam in place - though it snaps in pretty well), route your wires... You'll also need like a 20 foot RCA extension cable to get it all the way up front.

Lastly, I got the reverse signal at the tail light assembly (spliced onto the reverse wire - ran that up front) - others have found it up front (I never could find it).

It's really not that hard if you are mechanically inclined...

    Last question Fray Child!

I'm receiving my unit on Wednesday according to UPS. You said there is AUX support through RCA cables.

Does the Rosen Unit Come with the RCA cables or do I need to buy it?

I plan to buy something like this
    Google Image Result for http://www.cables4all.co.uk/ekmps/shops/cables4all/images/phono-rca-extension-leads-1.5-metres-96-p.jpg

I know the wire shown above doesn't have the yellow video wire so does the rosen unit support video and left and right audio?

I'm going to do what you did and run the ipod cable and the RCA cable into the stock AUX spot in the center console

That sounds about right - You can certainly do the switch!! I did a similar thing with our Scion XD's factory navigation; the unit uses the speed sensor wire to control a few things (such as accessing DVD and Nav menus, Auto-Volume while driving) - So I ran a switch between the speed sensor wire so that I can switch it off when I need to access certain while driving, and I can switch it back on when I'm done. It's the same idea if you wanna do that with the "Brake" wire! Just ground it, and use a switch in between! The good thing about the Prius is that there are plenty of "Blank" switch spots to put switches everywhere!! LOL

Cloud, I'll be honest, I can't say I remember whether or not it came with it... When I got the unit, I sorta' just plugged everything where they belonged and called it a day... I didn't pay attention to a few things because I knew I didn't have them (headrest monitor, amplifier/subwoofer, rear view camera etc.) - BUT, I can tell you right now that in the booklet it shows the following:
    Optional Aux Input: DP-1009
    Optional Backing System: DP1010
    Optional AV Output: DP-1011
    Optional Rear Output: DP-1008

Maybe we can find out where they sell these things or maybe from that same dealership seller...?

Arghhh! +%+]%]%}><] I wish I asked you this sooner so that I could have ordered the aux harness at the same time from the dealer if they had it...

Damn Rosen... I didn't know they made a specific pin connector for the aux cable so that you can't buy a universal one from radioshack and instead must buy their special wire :(

On my search I found the aux wire, backup sensor harness, backup camera harness and backup camera specific to the Rosen HU

hahha fraychild, I just realized you beat me 4 minutes to my post on those crutchfield items. I had no idea you posted those before me lol meaning it took me longer than four minutes to complete my post on my iphone hahaha.

I'm going to call the dealer tomorrow and see if they can just send it by USPS for like 5 dollars or something, if not then i'll just order one from crutchfield.

I finally decided what to do with the AV cables! I'm going to hook up a PS2 slim to it. I think it'd be a great addition cause it can run off the cars 12v port alone and it can fit inside the glove box nicely. I personally think the ps2 is barely going to be used by me so it's mostly just for show.

I'll let you guys know how everything comes out when I get my unit later this week.

"To answer some of the questions,

The Factory installed AUX is no longer valid..."

I didn't see this mentioned elsewhere but..I had one of these installed today and the factory AUX still works. I have the base 2010 Prius and the AUX connection in the center console still works even though I had the i-POD cable installed.
