The day after my last oil change I noticed a small amount of oil on the garage floor (never before had I seen this with the Prius). I went back to the dealer thinking maybe the drain pan or oil filter weren't tight. Later they quoted me to replace some kind of front cover that was leaking and assured me it was pure coincidence that it started leaking the day after my oil change. Flustered, I refused the $600 front cover repair and drove home to investigate myself. First thing I did was check the dipstick. It was 3/4 inch overfilled. It is so discouraging to live in a world of dishonest people. Next time I will be very clear about the oil level and check it before I leave.

Just take it back right away and show them the engine specs in the manual that say 3.5 quarts and tell them you want them to do the whole thing over again including replacing the filter and that you want them to do it to spec rather then what the clueless tech who doesn't understand the increased risk of damage that they could do to your car because they think overfull is better than exactly full... It's up to you to make them respect you! Don't let them treat you like all the other clueless Prius owners...
