Am I the only one who think Entune is total garbage?

I bet if we knew how many topics about this were out there we be amazed. Then add the NAV topics, then all the posts that frustrated, disappointed costumers post. We'd be really be amazed.
The real issue is what can be done so it gets fixed.

This is typical for essentially a 1.0 product. It takes quite a bit of time for bug reports, feature requests, etc. to reach QA dev and ultimately out to the end users.

First, anyone posting "my phone + Entune works great" without mentioning *which* phone they use with Entune is wasting all of our time and bandwidth. Of course Entune works with iPhones, the problem is that the smartphones with the *largest* market share clearly are not properly tested with Entune, or are at best an afterthought.

    (1) My Android ICS (4.1.2) device has major problems syncing bluetooth whenever I enter the car. Each time I have to use the phone's bluetooth config menu to *disable* the connection, then re-enable the connection, *then* when the car displays "connect to Phone?" I have to hit Reject 3 or 4 (!!) times before it asks me to "connect for Music", and then I can Accept, and also connect for Phone... (yes it often asks a 5th time!)

    (2) Entune Bluetooth music play has no clue what song/album/atrist is playing through the phone, nor how to skip forward or back a track or jog the song.

    (3) The wired USB connection is completely DOA - absolutely nothing comes up when it is plugged into my phone.

Regardless of phone connection problems, what is even more dumbfounding is that the Map app address lookup *refuses* to work unless you know the exact ZIP code of your destination. This makes the app entirely unusable! Ten *years* ago I bought a Gen I prius and the navigation system in that vehicle worked really well, looked dramatically better (on screen), and offered far better navigation help while driving. How is it that a company with as much attention to detail can regress so far with the navigation system? It is utterly mind boggling.

Total garbage is being kind. The last straw was the obvious exchange of body fluids with Microsoft. Choice (in case anyone with the ability to influence any of this is actually listening) is mandatory in the instance of a broad general purpose vehicle utility market. Bing was completely the wrong one. Entune is begging to be hacked.

Let me start off by saying I think the idea of potentially paying Toyota a monthly fee to allow my own car stereo to pull from my own cell phones data connection is rubbish. I will never pay Toyota a cent until the money I spend with them gets me data from Toyota. That said my new prius with entune has worked well with both my iPhone 4s and my Galaxy S3, no issues to report beyond that stupid auto play of music when you 1st connect.

This one is phone dependent (not platform dependent). The car is equipped with AVRCP 1.2 which means it can play/pause (1.0), skip track (1.1) and show metadata (1.2). Your phone must be equipped with 1.2 to do the same. The iPhone4 had 1.0 when it came out in 2010 and it wasn't until November with iOS5.0 did it upgrade to 1.2.

Just to add what Toyota needs to fix on the next update to Entune: Wireless support for iPhone! (Not sure if its on entune or apple's end), and fixing the repeated navigation/internet sync/data usage warnings and prompts! The initial set up is fine, but really? every single time you use it?

Apple store today updated entune app download is free. Bug fixes.

Can't say it's applicable to your situation.

Entune is kind of a first try at full vehicle/smartphone integration. It is somewhat useful at best. Eventually someone will get it right. This is not really close yet. I agree, it is like a Beta version that really should have been run through more testing before release. There are many versions of this on other brands. Is there a better version out there? Curious, there would seem to have to be.

New version of Entune with nothing new to offer. I don't understand the push for Pandora when there are better apps out there. I'm happy with my iPhone 5 to stream music via bluetooth. It would be nice if Plug-in features like "vehicle finder" and "remote climate" were available for my 2012 Prius.

I just wish Entune wasn't so slow but since I almost never use it, I'll just wait till they add useful options and work out the bugs. Heck, a web brower like what the Tesla S has would be a neat thing!

I could have used a vehicle finder app a few times.

i don't own a phone or know anything about entune, but my son was with me the other day. he pulled his galaxy note II out, hit setup on the car and a minute later was making handsfree calls and playing music all without any wires. seemed pretty cool to me.(y)

I've only used it for pandora--nice that there's no ads-- and a couple bing address searches. The search function is not impressive, especially the voice recognition part which is awful. I did look up a few addresses in the app at home then "saved" them and they loaded into maps without any problem.

the Premium Navi with Entune support wireless for iphone but the moment u plug in the phone to USB to charge iphone routes the audio to USB, U don't get audio.

what u want is wire when plug in and wireless when not plug in, best of both worlds!

    1) there are many variants of 4.1.2, different phone manufacturer that customize 4.1.2 acts differently iirc.

    3) USB connection DOA? what do you want it to do? on DA with entune, if U turn on USB/MSD or MTP on S3 it plays as USB. the premium Nav with entune does nothing as it does not support MTP.

My personal grip is the "Voice Search". Of the 10 different times I've tried, I've never gotten it to get an address right. It's comical how wrong it gets it.

I don't even bother with it now, and just use google Now on my phone.

I opted for the base model Prius mainly because I got a great deal on it but also because the value just didn't seem to be there for the nav and Entune features in the higher models. My smartphone apps get free updates and I get a new phone every other year. Sure it would be great to have a larger screen for nav and a voice control button on the steering wheel but like I said, the value just isn't there... especially since the voice control button doesn't even work with Siri.

I've been using Entune for about a month now. I find that the three separate messages that you have to acknowledge a huge inconvenience, yes I know they have to get through all that legal jargon but I think accepting it initially like a terms and conditions would save me the trouble.

As far as functionality, I've used it mostly for traffic information on my commute. The traffic flow information on the map helps me out on my daily commute. The incident information however shows lack of poor execution, you can't click on an incident on the map and find out more information. As a beta product, I think its a good start for Toyota. It's far from great, but hopefully they are taking all this feedback and going to make the product better in coming software updates.

No problems here with entune using SG3 with jelly bean. I think what we have to find out first is what our phone is capable of doing, consider your web browser/internet connection speed and your data usage. When you have reached your data usage, it will slow down your internet connection thus giving you slower connection speed. I believe this has to do a lot with your cellphone capability/software compatibility and your cell phone plan.
