Just wheels, no mounting, no tires. Whatever, as long as you're happy. Peace. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Good thing you don't own my car then! With all due respect, I didn't ask for you opinion. I posted this for others who might want to invest in the same thing. And trust me, my car gets more compliments this way than your car with silver wheels ever would. How do you buy new wheels without mounting and balancing tires on them? You calculation is simply untrue since you have to account for that cost as well. I've bought after-market alloy wheels before. The cheapest set you can get, mounted and balanced, are about $650. And the quality at that price means a bent rim if you hit a curb. The OEM Toyota ones are solid and worth a lot more than what you can replace them for. The paint job is guaranteed for life. They will look exactly like this in 10 years, because I'll get them repaired if they don't.
Yeah, I was a bit out of line: nobody likes their efforts dumped on, and black alloys are getting more popular. I'm just old-school, like silver. In the good old days steel rims where silver too, looked half-decent with just a centre cap, traditionally (and accurately) referred to as a "hub" cap.
