I am especially fond of the Fram Cabin Filter. As far as air filters I think the OEM filter is pretty good as it is and I'll probably replace with one of those. Although part of me wants to get the K & N lifetime reusable filter despite claims that they ruin MAF's. They have a claim on their website that says that if any dealer claims that their air filter caused problems they will back you up and fight the dealer for you.

There are a few of us American Idiots that would be more then happy to help a friend from down under by forwarding a shipment if ever needed without asking for anything in return but the actual cost of shipping.
I also belong to a videogame forum where we do this all the time. We have a network of gamers that find a highly desired games at a good price from certain retailers, some retailers aren't in every market so a lot of us will pick up the games if anyone asks and mail them out only asking for what we paid plus the shipping. In our cases it will usually be a game $60 US being sold at $39 US somewhere else so it ends up costing us about $45 saving us about $15 for our troubles, but we are known as Cheapasses. Paypal being used for good. :)

The filter is in both flowpaths. It's just in front of the fan intake, and since the fan works on both recirc or outside air, the filter must also.

i washed my cabin air filter today. it wasn't really dirty. all of the dirt just came off the filter in soap and water in a few seconds. the larger debris were pretty much stuck in the actual filter, didnt touch them. rinsed a bit, squeezed excess water out very carefully. sitting outside in the sun to dry completely seemed to take 4 hours. filter seemed to be needed to be flipped over to dry out good, felt it to see how dry it was before putting it back in

    filter looks almost brand new

yeah the filter was only used for 10,000 miles. i just wanted to see how practical cleaning it was

    Thanks, Kohnen.

I've attached a schematic which shows the flowpath as you describe.
