The wheel and tire combo look great, can you share your mileage with this set-up?
Any spacers needed, or just bolt them up?
Also, can you post some pics?

I'm thinking of upgrading when my stock 15's wear out.

Check out willtheyfit. I believe this is the one Rob43 references in his posts (very helpful).

I have some msw 17x7.5 (offset 45) wheels, but from a car I no longer have . However, the bolt pattern is 5x108. I was thinking of purchasing some 1.25" wheel adapters to be able to use these rims. I dont mind the look of the wheels slightly outward. My question is, does anyone have experience of using adapters on their prius, and are there any issues that could arise from this?

I have used adapters before with these same tires and did not encounter issues. [Originally the rims were purchased as a winter set for a Ford fusion, when the lease was up i used adapters to fit the snows to a lexus rx 300]

My thinking, after getting about 47k out of the stock toyos, is that I can mout my winter set from my steelies to the oem wheel. And use the 17"s i have for a dedicated summer set. However I can only do this by getting adapters.

    Any thoughts?

Also, I would probably go with 215/45/17 summers

Have you noticed any difference in handling with the 17" tires and wheels. I find the 15" are barely adequate for the coast highways.

I just picked up a used set of wheels 16x7 +48 wrapped in 205/55 hankook tires.

My 17” Corolla wheels with Firestone tires are a huge improvement for handling and braking. I give up maybe 10% mpg but I still average around 1,000 miles on 10 gallons. 28700851-A3FB-4A07-A1C5-FF73032FD873.jpeg

Do those 17" Corolla wheels fit without and medications or spacers?

Thanks for the feedback. Are you happy with the ride? What size tires did you go with?

The ride is great, still very comfortable, slightly more road noise than the original 15” tires. The tires are Firestone FR740 215/45/17 that came from the factory on Corolla S cars. I’m pretty impressed by the handling/ride balance of the tires, I’ll buy them again when they wear out.

I just ordered 17x7.5 +38. Enkei PF01 - strong, light and cheap . This will go with my TRD aero. I’m contemplating 225 or 205 tires - performance or max mpg??

Do whatever your heart desires. (y) But with those options, I would pick performance since we already get a good amount of MPG, but I'll probably use 215/45/17 tires. Tires, I'll probably go with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S or something performance oriented since I like to canyon drive, etc. I used to have a 2012 Prius 3 for a daily, had it lowered coilovers, Enkei17x8 RPF1's, and 215/45/17 Federal RSRR's (bit loud).

I would put the car in maintenance mode to turn off all the sensors and rip through the canyons, sliding around (when I run the stock 15's on Nanoenergy tires). Keep up with some up in the canyons and people were surprised it was a Prius. It was fun, but it was also how I eventually totalled it. :ROFLMAO:

For the 2021 Prime, I noticed there are actual alloy wheels behind the hub caps. I took a cap off to see what they look like and I actually liked the look! However there is a empty space where a centercap would go. Is there a centercap that fits? Anybody have a part number?

Also, what would be the mileage hit if I run without the hubcaps? Anyone have pics of their cars without them?

    Check this thread.
Question about center caps | PriusChat
There are a few links and part numbers of the center cap in the thread. Yeah, maybe in an ideal test set-up, aerodynamics may be improved with the cap, but in the real world, there will be no noticeable mpg hit.

Yes, IMHO the alloys look much better than the hubcaps, and I took them off on my last two PPs. You can get a set of four OEM center caps from eBay for about $50. Unless you are a "Hyper-miler" squeezing every last erg of energy per dram of fuel, I don't think you'll notice any appreciable change in efficiency and, as a plus, the wheels are far easier to keep clean from brake dust.

New Prius owner here. I’m looking to upgrade my stock rims with 18” rims. If I get 28lb rims with LRR tires what can I expect that to do to my gas mileage? I don’t want to destroy my vehicles fuel efficiency but I’m having trouble finding lighter weight 18” rims. Thanks for the help!

    I have a 2021 Prius LE AWD-e

Brand new 2022 Prime owner here.
I went with the BRZ performance package wheels that are 17x 7.5 offset is 48

These were on the Subies with Brembos so the caliper clearance is fine, also checked all the other clearances inside the wheel well.

I have the Toyota FRS center caps ordered.
215/45/17 but I want to go with Rob’s 205/50R17 generals next to fill in the wheel well better.

I am looking at going 17's when we get our prime very soon. I am going with a leightweight wheel and LRR tires. what kind of MPG loss am I looking at when I swap? I am going to try to find a very light wheel and tire combo.
