Rob - you never posted a good side photo of your wheel set up, can you?

Also - I went through all 10 pages and it's pretty scattered in regard to what you bought. Any chance I can beg you to type in 1 post exactly what you bought and from where? I really like your set up and prefer to go with EXACTLY what you bought.

Any chance you can list it all neatly for my ordering purposes?

 

I swapped over my 2012 Prius Performance Plus 17" wheels to my Prime. Been running these for the past 7500 miles with zero complaints.

New member. Picked up 15x6.5 TE37 they're 9.5lbs !

 

I see most are choosing 17" aftermarket wheels, but I decided to get a 16" setup, hoping to hit the sweet spot between light, efficient but puny 15's and wider, grippier but heavier 17's. I also wanted something that looked OEM, and not "aftermarket-ey".

I looked at Tire Rack and some Canadian sources that my local tire shop could get for wheels, but I didn't see much that I liked in 16" sizes, so I started looking at European sources. I wound up ordering these from Performance Alloys, a mail-order supplier in the UK that ships world-wide.

I weighed one with a shipping & receiving scale and they're 21 lb each. Not exactly the lightest available, but they ought to be rugged enough with the potholed roads around here.

I don't have them installed on the car yet, as I still have to choose tires. But I found a German wheel website that has a great 3D configurator and I was able to get a rendering of what it will look like. They don't have the Prius Prime on file, but they do have the regular one...

Yes, I got the correct hub rings for the Prius when I ordered the wheels. And they included lug nuts, too

Looking at a performance all-season like the Michelin Pilot Sport AS3+. There's lots of others in that class, too - Bridgestone, Goodyear, Continental, etc.

 

Wound up getting the Michelin Pilot Sport AS3+ in the 205/55 HR16 size. They always seem to be among the top-rated ones in the performance all-season class. So far I've only driven home from the tire shop, but they're pretty quiet on the highway, and they're certainly a lot grippier than the factory tires.

 

Thanks, Rob43 - will do. Here's a couple other angles. The offset is 35mm, so they only stick out 5mm more than the factory wheels.

 

I found some on tire rack that are 17x7.5, 45mm offset. Would that need spacers or work as is?

Hey everyone! Hope anyone can help me with this issue here...
I have 17" OZ Sparco Terra wheels on my Prius Prime and trying to put 5mm spacers on both front and rear.

I took it to a shop and they tried with 5mm spacers but the oem bolts were too short.
Yesterday, I took it to the shop again since they wanted to measure the stud length. They quoted CAD600 for getting new studs so I can put on bigger spacers...

Like Rob wrote on the thread, I think I'll probably go with 3mm spacers so I don't have to spend 600 just for the studs.

I am hoping if I any of you can give me a lead on this. Thanks in advance guys!

 

I just ordered some Enkei Vulcan 17x7.5 and some Yokohama Avid Ascend LX 215 45 17. They have the BluEarth LRR and have an 85k treadlife warranty.
