Ok, I bought the DB-ALL and TLTH2 for my 2010. I've hooked up the yellow/black to purple and the orange/black to green. I've looked at a couple different manuals and the photos from this post and can't figure out where third wire (red/black) goes. I've tried it on pin 30 of the ECU and it didn't work. Right now, when I push the lock button 3x the DBALL box flashes 7 times. I'm also wondering if there's a plug D50 with a pin 23 that I should be looking for. Plus, the T harness has an extra wire (yellow), should it be hooked up somewhere? Thanks in advance for the help!

    rx (violet, pin 4)
    tx (green, pin 16)
    parking lights (yellow, pin 30)

You do not need to hook up the other two connections horn and the push to start. Apparently EIPS does not work for our car.

You do not use the yellow wire on the ODBII T-Harness.

not sure if this thread still active or not but first of all Thank you for posting this information!!! Finally after owning few different Prius I found a keeper, 2010 Prius Package 5 with the tech package. I have ordered the parts and will be doing OEM remote install with Dball + the T-harness 3 wire tap. Will post how it went and or if I cant find what to tap into. pin 4, 16 and parking lights = simple as long as my wires are same.

To start the installation do you remove the panel under the steering wheel? Thanks.

The panel directly under the steering wheel (at your right knee) does not need to be removed. You should remove the panel right above your feet, and foot controls. You should also remove the panel to the left of the steering wheel which has the side mirror controls, headlight washer switch, dashboard dimmer switch.

This is what I paid of Ebay with shipping included. $22.23 TLTH2 harness , $42.90 Xpresskit DBALL and my local stereo shop said he would program the unit Free of charge, but I will be giving him $20 for lunch. TOTAL OEM Remote Start with my labor cost $85.13. (Many thanks to everyone for all of the information!!!and I will also take notes/pics on my 2010 package 5 to verify everything is same/ per xpresskit.com it looks all same)

Thank you guys, I finally got my remote starter installed. everything went smooth and works perfect. The most difficult thing I found is to flash firmware on the DB All module, because I did not know that I have to use internet explorer browser in order to get firmware flash into module. Yes, you have to use Internet Explorer Browser only, Chrome, Firefox, etc. they do not work, don't waste your time to try them because I spent more than an hour try to fix my PC before I figured out that I have to use internet explorer. other than that, all installation is about 20 minutes. I used bridge fast connector instead of t-tap connector because my local auto part shop just don't have them in stock.

Nice find! Great deal on parts and installation labor! But if Best Buy hasn't changed their policy in regards to remote start installs for Hybrid vehicles, might not be a deal you can take advantage of. It's best for people to call the stores to verify before purchasing.

Two years ago the Best Buys around my area refused to install a remote start in my Prius because of concerns with "high voltage". I was able to pay the guy on the side to get it done. After doing the DIY myself, I chuckle when I remember the excuse they gave me and the citing of their policy. I'm sure they were just trying to cover themselves from liability in case.

Read the install PDF and the first few posts in this thread. It will show you which harnesses you will need

If I'm reading this correctly I will be connecting all the harnesses to the dball and only splicing a few wires from each of the plug ins?

    SCH-I545 ?

Okay, now that I've figured out where the actual wires get tapped into at uploadfromtaptalk1391462248902.jpg where is the plug for the obdII at?

I do see one underneath the steering wheel. But there's nothing near it to unplug it from to connect it to.

    SCH-I545 ?

I'm curious how you determine what firmware you need to enable this to be the remote start with the factory FOB? Is it just a setting in the programming app? I'd love to do this on my Prius V.

Can anyone confirm that this setup works when the temperature is below 10 deg F, unlike my Toyota Factory Remote System which cost me $500?
I would think it should work fine since it doesn't utilize the OEM Box.
