You need a lower grill that has the foglight openings in them to mount foglights. If your model doesn't have them, then another one needs to be sourced.

Yes, The PIP has the exact same bumper, the only difference is the lower grill. The reg Prius has an all black grill whereas the PIP have the silver piece on it.

May be we can just cut a hole on the original bumper grill of the prius and then install a Yaris fog lamps, do you think it is doable???

Yes but the holes would more than likely have rough / unfinished edges.

Post pics if u decide to pursue

You wouldn't have anything to mount the foglight housings to. You would have to fabricate some kind of bracket. Way too much trouble.

IMO, much easier to get the proper grill with openings and mounting points molded in.

@xliderider, the mounting tabs for the actual fog light is part of the bumper, not the grill.

Does that mean he can take the Sawzall to the shiny black part and create the openings for the Yaris lights and screw that down to the bumper tabs?

From what I understand, there are 2 tabs that the lens assembly snap into. Then there's one self-tapping screw on the other side.

The tabs snap into the bumper cover, and the screw screws into the grille.

You could of course fabricate any and all of these yourself, but whether it will look as nice as factory depends on your skills.

The edges is not a problem for me I bought a 16ft door edge guard from my friend who works for toyota for $85 and I have a lot of spare left so I can use it to the edges of the cut, and if you check my rear fender I just used the door edge guard too if you look closer I extend the guard thru the bumper, the front fender not installed , don't have time to do it yet.

Are you in the business of going around and correcting me without getting paid any money?

If so, this is great. Please continue. I appreciate the information.

Is there a difference between the Toyota foglamps and aftermarket foglamps in the extra mounting tab?

I looked in the Toyota parts diagram for the part number for the screw, and I see that the Toyota lens assembly doesn't have the extra inner upper tab that does not bolt to anything.

Does this also mean I can ride around with no grille?

The OEM & aftermarket fog lights 4 the Gen3 Prii all come with 4 tabs.

Yes, the lower grill is simply cosmetic so if u needed to drive while the grill is out, u can

He is contributing about this topic, no body cares here about you being right or wrong, unless you are famous? But now we know that the bumper has already a whole and we only need to get a drill so the circle will be perfect, and I called a junkyard and they said they are selling the bumper grill for $30 so I might buy it when I have a time and try it so I dont need to do it on my original grill.

Just source a lower grill with the foglight cutouts already there.

Has anyone painted the grille body colour? I recall seeing a Winter Gray grille, but I think only the upper strip was painted, and not the whole grille.

I installed cheap fog light kit from ebay and switch will stay on even when ignition is off.
    image.jpg

I realized that the 12V that feeds the switch LED came from the fuse box where it supplies the fog lights and that the reason why the lights remains on. So I revised by rewiring it.

There are 3 wires the goes to the fire wall/ the black with white wire is the 12v that goes to the switch and the brown wire is the 12v back the to the relay. I snip the black wire which I don't need since I tap this wire to the bolt under the dash

    Here's the revise switch.

    Sleeves on for neat install.
