You've got no timing belt. It's a chain. It's replaceable if necessary, but for the labor involved, you might want to consider just swapping to a used engine with lower miles.

As for troubleshooting the brake situation, your post would probably be most helpful to others (say, later readers trying to decide if their issues are the same as yours or different), if you actually took the troubleshooting steps in the manual for those codes in order and posted what you found in each step, and therefore which conclusion it led to.
