a surprise detour gets me my Prius today! Yippee!

Have you verified that the leather will allow the side airbags to function:

Looks like they used roughly the same seam locations as the factory seats

but if the seams arent made to rip apart that could be a problem.

 

Does anyone know for sure if after-market leather seats may negatively affect the function of the side air bags? I realize that there is reasonable speculation, but is there any hard data (I understand the "seams" logic)? Thx! B

 

Congrats on your new purchase. I'm glad to hear you're happy with it. It's a good car.. i should know.. it's held up through everything i've thrown at it so far.. mud.. rain.. autocross.. etc.. etc.

However.. on a personal level, the 36k is outrageous. 36k is what i could could have paid for a bmw or mercedes.. it's why i purchased the prius for less than 30k.
