Nez Perce, National Historic Park in MT, ID, WA, and OR, centered at the Nez Perce Reservation in Lapwai, Idaho The most famous Nez Perce Indian, Chief Joseph, fought the white man in the late 1800's as their tribe lost 17 million acres to white settlement. Finally he made a run for Canada, and was pursued with his main tribe for nearly 1200 miles thru Montana, fighting skirmishes along the way. Finally he called together his chiefs and surrendered just 40 miles from Canada, and said "Hear me my chiefs. I am tired; my heart is sick and sad. From where the sun now stands I will fight no more forever."

Nope. It's right off of I-90 not too far north of the Wyoming border. It's sorta nestled into some rather hilly terrain. Not really foothills, but like foothills without any large nearby mountains. Grass covered hills interspersed with pine trees. New Zealand
