For some reason names stick in my head, so I generally use the search tool to check on repeats, but as we have all found, some of them do not always show up. Judy's "New Ulm" was a classic - I knew I had seen it before, but could not find it with the search, so just paged back and quickly eyeballed the entries. I had a bit of time to waste so just spent the time to prove that I was not wrong in my thoughts. Sorry, no special tool used. :focus: Eaglehawk Neck, Tasmania
And I'm guessing that Evangeline, which you listed, (but I don't know how to double-quote) is another interesting Cajun connection -- Evangeline, the tale written by Longfellow, on the Acadian (:canada:) trek to LA, and the invention of Cajuns .... :banplease: Killington ................... VT ski country
yes, Spectra, that's an invention of the Cajuns.....of which I am not one (born and bred Yankee transplant relocated south)......but to continue.........how about Natchitoches, LA, on Hwy. 1 in central LA. It's located on the Red River and was the backdrop for the movie "Steel Magnolias."
This might be tough..........Thibodaux, LA......south of here closer to the coast......extremely affected by Hurricane Ike this year.
Xicheng, China - as Tripp says, China is the place for 'x' places. This is a district in Beijing and where my company's Beijing office is located. Sorry, nascrlvr, but Xenia is a repeat, posted way back on Oct 23.
sorry Eric,.........I didn't go back that far.... How about Destrehan, LA. That's about 15 mi. west of NO Internation Airport up US 61. Destrehan Plantation is the oldest documented plantation home in the lower Mississippi Valley, from 1787. It's absolutely beautiful....
Algiers, LA, on the westbank of the Mississippi directly across the Canal Street ferry from New Orleans.....home of Blaine Kern's Mardi Gras World...
