you're not helping much by not taking it to PM'S.

This will be my last attempt, you have a problem with ME, hit me up PERSONALLY through PM'S, and not subject everyone else to this.

Please, please, allow others to post what they will, and don't hijack this thread. You've almost done it, though. Can't you allow anyone any peace?

There's an example of what MS is about, Jack. His favorite argument is tu quo que or "you too". It's the kind of nonsene where he attempts to blame you for his actions. You know, as if it's your fault that he acts the way he does because someone acts that way. It's illogical and invalid. Look at all of his posts and I'll bet that the majority of them are based on tu quo que.

    You know, I actually would.

Thing is, I'm actually taking into consideration everyone else this time. Everyone has pretty much stated how they're disgusted by all this, and the mods. don't need to be dealing with this BS AGAIN.

You want to find another public forum to continue, I'm GAME ALL THE WAY.

    ;)

Why, of why, after his hundreds of posts on controversial topics, does MS want to move this off-thread?

MS, I have no rage. I worked through that the night before last and yesterday. That's why I'm posting now. I've thought it through. I can't sit at your table again---and you make everything that strikes your whimsy YOUR table.

Drama? YOUR drama, junior. Not mine. I have not attacked you nor said one untrue word about you.

If I had any further interest in you, I would have posted an "I hate MS" thread instead of this one.

I hope that you reconsider Jack. It was a pleasure trying to help you find your car. Some of spend just a few moments of our day here and some seem to be engulfed in the search for attention.

Ignoring things can be hard but in my field (working with the mentally disabled and mentally ill) we find that it is best to ignore negative attention seeking behavior.

Give a call if you and the Mrs. come down to SD.

Here's the text of what Jack feels is anti-semetic--judge for yourselves:
Ok, I looked back through the thread. Jack, MS was taunting you a bit, but you are at least as guilty as he in this. I searched for any quote that could be construed as anti-semetic by MS and it simply wasn't there. You took Elder's comment as being anti-semetic and MS's effort to support the 'point' that Elder was making as support for your presumed belief that his comment was anti-semetic. And then you guys just snowballed out of control.

The point is this, you let your emotions take over for your reason. If you feel that that is justification for leaving then fine. But you're changing history a bit here by making statements accusing people of anti-semetism. Reasonable and intelligent people can disagree on the triggers for events in history. IMO Elder's post was simply trying to draw some similarities b/w the current status of low vs high income and how the frustrations could lead to a holocaust-like rebellion. I think his metaphor is terrible and way off base and I completely disagree with his point of view. But I do NOT believe his comments are anti-semetic.

The entire thread currently resides in the staff forum only, I'll leave it to Danny to decide if it should be moved back to the public arena for folks to completely consider the content. But it's ugly, it's ugly b/c of more than 1 or 2 people and you all need to face up to your share of the responsibility for that and try not to get so emotionally involved and baited into these emotional situations. MS makes no bones about what he does here, if you don't like it put him on 'Ignore' and avoid his ascinine theads.

Umm, perhaps pushing blame for the war onto 'the jews' is considered by some to be anti-Semitic.

Following up with a money-trail taking all money into the hands of 'the jews' might be nice for proof of the idea, but again 'the jews' who didn't actually get any money might still have grounds to object...

I agree that that was the most questionable line out of the thing. But in the context of the rest of the paragraph he was using Mein Komph as his reference material...so that kind of statement is what you'd expect and it was being used as a metaphor for the rich vs poor situation in the US.

It did not read, to me, that he was trying to be and anti-semite nor to directly blame the jews for what happened to them in the holocaust. Certainly another person might interpret it otherwise. The point, again, is that it's very very difficult to interpret what people's intent is from typed text and without the usual context of spoken language. So, we should give the benefit of the doubt.

Further, the chaos that ensued after was certainly not warranted in any case.

Ummm, well, if the 'sucked' part had only been part of a Mein Kampf quote, I'd buy that context idea. But it appeared to be a held opinion that was followed by Mein Kampf to back it up.

I've also learned that when people are sensitive to even slight offenses, their opinion of 'warranted' usually differs from the unoffended. One of my friends almost tore my head off one day when I said the word 'Vietnam' using voice inflection he took the wrong way. The pain he suffered due to injuries there made him rather touchy about the subject. Some people respond the same way to cracks about 'the jews' that just pass by other people, context or not...

...and that's life. You can't go around fearing everything that comes out of your mouth because of how someone might interpret it.

I'll join Jack in protest over the moderator's decision to allow squid to continue posting, and become inactive as well.

I am a minor member, so this is just one more vote against hate in the forum.
