Yeah, I lean towards them as well. Not from ego, just that they didn't seem to work right on my truck either. I couldn't even get freon through them, ended up using a direct connection from the can to the truck's valve. It might be that I'm doing something wrong - I've never used gauges until I bought these - but the directions seem easy and the concept pretty basic.
