Yeah I'm out west and was on holidays (back to work now) so I do have the privilege of driving through the Rockies every summer. I did live in the GTA before (see reply in the July thread).

Where is this hypermiler stuff? I have no idea how you can do this. Does every car around you beep and honk and procede with dirty looks? The best I averaged was 350 miles/tank; and I thought I did pretty good. What am I missing?

Turn the PWR mode off, stop driving it like a race car. It's a Prius for Christ sake.

For my recent trip to San Diego and back I drove 515 miles My HSI mpg is 57.5. I still got 3 bars left on my fuel gauge. I filled additional 1.5gal after the pump's first auto stop. I didnt fill the gas all the way to the neck but I think it's pretty up there. I think I might be able to make 700 mile tank. According to the how far past 0 can go thread, people were driving over 50 miles after it shows 0.

Where are you driving that you can average 21MPH for 129 miles? I average 28-29 miles per hour on my tanks and even though I travel local roads, there are a number of stares and periodic honks (but those may just be the Floridians' was of saying hello).

In my case, rural roads starting at 4:40am. I would never try something like this in traffic conditions. That's one of my big rules, don't interfere with traffic, ever.
