Compared to the 4cylinder loaner Camry I had while my Prius was dead, it's just as fast. In fact, it seems to handle better than the Camry as well.

On the other hand, compared to my old 1.8t Jetta, the Prius has it's lunch handed to it. VW may not be able to make a car that can keep it's power windows from falling in, but they know how to make fast cars.

I think the reason people say it's sluggish is because it doesn't have the back-into-chair feel of a regular car at launch but rather power is delivered linearly and thus people associate that with weak cars. That is until they see another car side by side or trailing behind. Granted, it's not Porsche 911 but for everyday driving, it's adequate

why do all these freaks who bash the PSD not look at conventional automatic tranny's most have 2 or 3 planetary gear sets in them. In about 3 million miles of driving I've only every had one planetary gear set pack it in. That was in a turbo 350 behind a turbocharged Buick V6 in a Toyota 4X4 pickup. The Buick leaked oil, blew head gaskets, and had myriad other problems and the truck had 248,000 on it when I got rid of it and it still had the original U-joints in it.

LOL. I just upgraded to a Prius from a 1.8T Jetta as well, and had that wonderful window collapsing problem, among about a billion other problems. It's utterly amazing and pathetic that this power window problem on Jettas has been around since 1998 and still hadn't been corrected as of 2002.

In any case, I am very happy with my Prius. I'm having small problems with the emergency brake light which I'm getting fixed on Friday, but I have a lot more faith in the build quality of Toyota than VW.

Jayman we got into a cold spell and it's slowed the growth. If it'd warm up again, I'm sure another week and you could pick it. So cold even my bees haven't hatched. They need about 4 day's of +10 over night, and were barely making that in the daytime. Sorry but I have no control over the weather.

I know I was just teasing. I went to Sobey's the other day and got a rhubarb pie. It just wasn't the same ...

So Jay may have to hop a flight to YVR to get some fresh tasty rhubarb. The way the weather has been here, well h*** it may be August by the time we see any.
