5th Generation Prius

Sides do look weird.

 

Besides exterior looks, interior that’s more artwork driven than practical, and more and more basic controls relegated to the touchscreen.

Yeah garish/aggressive front end a turn off for me.

 

So far the only motivation to trade my 2017 Prius 2, would be the addition of TSS 2.5 which doesn't appear to be in the offing.

 

It is marginally better than the big black Lexus grille on the Prime! (Sorry, Jerry).

I still remember seeing one coming towards me on a parking lot road one morning. My first thought was "Who put a Toyota logo on a Lexus??" After it passed, I looked in my side mirror and said, "Oh, it's a Prime "

 

I like that interior.

 

A Japanese magazine is saying that their next issue, to be released tomorrow, Jan 26, will have info on the next gen Prius.

PriusChat on twitter announced this, says base Prius will be PHEV. Whoever posts as PriusChat on Twitter (Danny?) doesn't seem interested in posting the info here.

The blue front end vehicle (assume this is the Prius) looks a damn sight better.



Looks tallish, with front end like a Fit. No “gills” or “intake scoops” either. Overall a no nonsense look; hope that extends to the rest of the exterior AND the inside.

 

Yes, it actually looks like something called a Prius.

 

Looks almost like a - ugggh - SUV.

 

But it cannot be a Toyota without the mandatory big black grille.

Well, after spending $6.90 and managing to translate my name into Japanese characters, here it is. Trouble is I haven't been able to find a site to translate the Japanese to English, so if anyone can read this, let us know. I'm thinking, since there is quite a bit of focus on the first 4 generations, they actually don't know much about gen 5.

 

It looks like it's a non-text PDF (ie an image) - which I've never found a translator to translate. Not to say that it's not possible - maybe need to find someone who can read the language?

 

There are scanners that do image to text. In English...

Japanese/English fluent person needed; ability to paraphrase and sort wheat from chaff would be assets. Apply within.
